Note

Glands, ears and nose screaming at me so not doing a further run today. Shooting for around 97 miles this week. Need to chat with Bud about whether to do Inter counties or not. Feel I want to prove myself on the mud but also want to get a good HM PB.

Race race 40:18 [5] 6.25 mi (6:27 / mi)

I hate it when you've had a a race you're not happy with but haven't felt thids gutted for a long time! I often get this wierd sinusey thing that I tihnk is a cold before races, its painful as hell and my glands always swell up. Im starting to wonder whether its stress related cos im a gayer about big races.

Had it all week this week and thought it was a cold coming on seeing as everyone from work has one. Nothing ever materialised but ive felt shit and wednesdays session went crap.

Come race day I felt ok and was well up for it, especially seeing the conditions, so when the race started I went for it and found myslef exactly where I wanted to be and feeling comfortable, then suddently I just started going backwards and was running just to finish.

Im totally gutted, the preceding week was one of the best weeks in terms of times in sessions, my goal today was top 40 I tihnk it was realistic. Unfortunately it wasnt to be.

Aside from my disappointment, well done to the team, highest finish for ages and still room for improvement.

Sorry to moan (again)

Easy Running 30:00 [1] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Session 11:36 [5] 2.5 mi (4:38 / mi)

Session originally was 4x800/lap jog rec. followed by 2 individual laps off 200 jog

aim was for these reps to be fairly quick. Have been feeling ace all week other than the knee so was looking forward to this

times were 2.16, 2.20, 2.20- really sturggling so changed last bit to 4xlap/200

Knee still sore but not affecting gait

dunno wot-went-wong but jsut felt shit from the off. bit paranoid im coming down with something as sinus are inflamed but hopefully it was jsut one of those days. I was aiming for something more like 2.16 x 4 then some 67/8s but the times werent dissimilar to ones i was doing earlier in the week off shorter rec.

But thats running! Easing off now for the Nationals, excited about the teams prospects and hopefully some team beers...

To anyone who bothers to read this, this is a facebook message I have sent out and applies to anyone who fancies a training trip, the mroe the merrier!

Hi guys,

I've jsut booked to go to Font Romeu to go for a 2 week stint of altitude training. UKA are out there and failry encouraging of anyone who wishes to join in sessions and theres laods of other training groups and coaches heading out for this period of time.

Im going from 16th April to May 1st flying to Toulouse from Manchester with BMI Baby flights cost £207.

Not sorted accomm. out yet cos I'm waiting to see how many troups I can rally, plan is to get about 4 more to get an apartment and a car and make a real good training trip out of it. Its live high train low so 2 weeks is sufficient to get some good training in.

Ive asked everyone I know whos a runner, I know some of you might not be able to make it, but if you can, this could be awesome!
