Running 25:56 [3] 4.0 mi (6:29 / mi)

Dropped Soph at nursery then headed to Holmebrook for a little shakeout before heading to my folks to stay over.

Hatti no longer eligible for Yorkshire so she's doing the Derbyshires-giving us a childcare headache!

Feeling good and well tapered. A bit bunged up- but hopefully nothing- just one more sleep to find out if I've picked anything up from work.

Frustratingly my knee was grumbling on this run-I was hoping a massage and a rest day would sort it- mainly for tomorrows race, but in the back of my mind I'm a bit worried about getting it through the next 6 week training block (not to mention getting to the 3 peaks in once piece.)

Should be an interesting race tomorrow- unfortunately one or two drop outs from our club.

Both Brownlees are entered but often are and don't show- so, assuming they don't my predictions are a win for Tom Adams of Ilkley, with Bertie and Joshua Woodcock-Shaw battling for the medals with a bloke from Morpeth who is now a Yorkshire resident.

To be fair, even if the Brownlees show up I reckon Tom Adams will be in the gold medal battle.

Looking forward to it. Hope a good Dave turns up.

Tired today and knee grumbling-gutted to miss another stunning day for running though!

Morning 6 miler with 6*20second strides off 1 minute easy Rec.

Felt good and fine after last nights session.

Feeling very paranoid that my chest is getting tight- and feeling very tired and dehydrated as the day goes on. Hopefully just paranoia-but lots of people at work are under the weather!

2 more days to survive

Cruised taper session of 15x 60s/60s at Holmebrook felt fast and controlled and knee felt ok.

If I'm honest, I thought I was going a lot quicker! But hey-ho! HR's quite low

All the work is done now, just need to avoid the plague of lurgies at work (of who there are many)

Running warm up/down 36:12 [3] 5.0 mi (7:14 / mi)

Nice easy one to blow out the cobwebs- couldn't resist going up Porter clough and Limb Valley rather than from the doorstep from Toms where we spent NYE.

Freezing and rainy but enjoyable.

Knee feeling a bit better which is encouraging considering I sessioned yesterday.

Feeling a but fat after indulging last night.

Blagged a massage off "Sharp-elbows" Hatt last night which just about got me through todays session.

Knee grumbly but never any worse. Legs generally a little DOMsed on both sides which is interesting as that only really materialised this morning!

Session of 2x400m,10mins @ race pace, mile at race pace, 4 x 400, 10mins at race pace (although it was 11 as I shot my bolt too early after 1 minute of recovery. Idea being to simulate the anticipated fast start next week.

Enjoyed it, love Holmebrook. Saw Calli Thackery running around a few times which was a surprise. Wonder what she's doing out this way?

76, 75
5.40 pace for 159 HR
5.50 for 158
83, 72, 94, 82
5.47 pace for 158

Need to get these legs sorted now, the hard work is in the bank

Running warm up/down 35:50 [3] 5.0 mi (7:10 / mi)

4 PM

Running 31:04 [3] 4.16 mi (7:28 / mi)

Nice easy on with Tom from a play date in millhouses.

Still DOMsey but knee a bit better

Have fun tonight anyone reading this!
