Running tempo 2:15:43 [5] 22.05 mi (6:09 / mi)

Deliberated up until the second I left the door. The planned 20 mile session along thhe ridge was out as I still felt DOMSy and didn't see the point in slogging in 50MPH winds (yes it might happen on race day and on race day I'll embrace it- special thanks to the Hardman Police)
My decision was between an easy run around the resers, the Gallop, a route from home… or do the planned session-but around the resers.
I opted for the latter but decided to just "get through it" not worrying about hammering it or paces/weather etc..
Also wore mileage shoes as opposed to flats to minimise any risk. Left knee a bit sore on waking but better, but some mild DOMS in both legs. Both legs also pleasantly tired from a relaxed but fairly long bike ride (for someone not cycling regularly).
As it was…I'm delighted I didn't go for the ridge session as it would have finished me off! This was a slog on tired/ achey legs, but I think really worthwhile. HR was low and I felt strong CV wise I think paces were just limited by legs that CNBA
Pretty windy and rainy out so as i said, I just survived it. NIggly by the end particularly left knee, hip, calf and foot (!) Cocked up by uploading the shorter version of the session to my garmin which threw me bit at the end, but quickly worked it out
But all should settle with a very easy day tomorrow and a rest day. Although it was a slog i did enjoy it to be fair.
Got to get my head on for Long Mynd now, pretty scared about the second half, but its exactly what I need
Huge number of bird watchers out…wanted to ask them which bird was in town but I was "reppin " both times I passed them.
Thought I'd been quite cautious with my training plan but in hindsight a few things were wrong. Although I left a fair amount of time between sessions- 2 big hill sessions in a week is too much (obvious in hindsight). I think it's because last year when I was training uphill only I recovered well as I took the descents slower.
Anyway- another lesson learned..time to tweak the plan
