Running long 2:47:10 [3] 22.15 mi (7:33 / mi)

A final return to the Grindleford loop. Need to have a long run in the legs or no point turning up at the race, so a calculated risk.
Had a few pints with a mate last night so a little thick headed and still very niggly from Tuesdays session. But pleasingly the knee wasn't sore on waking or walking downstairs for the first time in 4 weeks.
Pretty grim day with fog and drizzle, but in fairness conditions were nice for a long run and it was good to practice descending on slippy rock. The only shitty bit was the boring bit from Eyam to Great Longstone.
Deliberately tried to keep the run as constant as possible, not stopping the watch for stiles/ cattle grids to try and practice getting over them quickly.
Contemplated doing 4 x 15 mins but it was pretty evident in the first mile that I'm the niggliest man in niggletown, so just ran it easy but tried to run well over anything "technical" and the descents.
Despite not being a scaredy cat today it highlighted that my decision making and foot placement are pretty crap, so as I've said before I just need to accept this on race day and concentrate on getting down "fast for me"
Great to get it done. Niggles came on at 9 miles which is a great improvement. Last 5 weren't comfortable but hopefully with some TLC now I can at least toe the line and enjoy the weekend.
Just got to see how I feel tomorrow and get through a planned easy one on Win Hill on Monday and a few tick over sessions.
