Orienteering (Burnt Mt) 1:23:00 [3]*** 7.4 km (11:13 / km) +100m 10:30 / km
ahr:142 max:187 spiked:7/9c shoes: La Sportiva - Slingshot
Shoes are getting pretty torn up. Think it's nearly time for a new pair. Slipping alot out there as well. Felt really strong running today. Lungs were strong and had good leg lift, except on the barbed wire fence that I didn't see and ended up supermaning through the woods on.

Found one and two with relative ease. c3 killed me c4 was a little hesitant but the rest were clean. I love this map, it offers such good technical variety. And, when you get turned around, you get lost good.

Tuesday Jun 5

Orienteering (Burnt Mt) 1:29:00 [2]*** 6.7 km (13:17 / km) +75m 12:35 / km
ahr:124 max:169 shoes: La Sportiva - Slingshot
This could be re-categorized as a run in the woods while happening to bump into some controls...

Sunday Jun 3

Orienteering race (Score-O) 1:31:00 [4]*** 11 km (8:16 / km) +200m 7:35 / km
ahr:153 max:180 spiked:17/18c shoes: La Sportiva - Slingshot
Never done a true score-o. It was more fun than I thought it would be. Don't like the idea of a mass start but I took a completely different route from the start so it worked out ok. I was under the impression that it would be possible to get all the controls but it wasn't. So in hind sight I would have used a different strategy. I was moving pretty good out there but judging my HR I was feeling the fact that I had done a 5hr workout the day before. 180bpm is 2 beats shy of my max. One thing that I'm pleased about is that my average was as high is it was. It woudn't have been had I not raced the day before however the fact that I was able to maintain the high average tells me my LT is further along than I thought it was.

CT has some of the best running woods I've been in I have to say. Not an overly challenging map however. Many trails and stone walls. Very forgiving as compared to the O Erin and I have been partaking in lately (Burnt Mt, Pawtukaway, and the very green Gatineau Park)
C • Challenging O 2
C • CT has some of the best running woods 2
