| Sprint race in Vaneča (SOL). I started fairly well to the first few CP's. Made the first 1' mistake to the 6th, where there has been a roughly done map, showing only one valley in the place, where there should be 4. I checked them a few and then ran back. There I have been caught by my follower - Primoz Savinsek. He followed me out of breath from there on. I made another mistake to the 8th (have seen 9th and ran there). Otherwise nice and accurate orienteering. Alltogether 2:20 of mistakes. I am satisfied with the race; Primoz has been MP-ed in the end, since he was not careful when punching CP3 and has not been registered there. |

| 3rd race (middle) of SOL was held on the new fairly interesting map of Salamenci in NW Slovenia. I stared disastrously - made little mistakes to a few first controls (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th). Then ran pretty great to the 13th, when I again made the biggest boom, but continued well until the last few controls, where we made a bet for the best last leg and have therefore been resting. In the end I made overall best last leg, but missed 1st place for 14" and finished 4th. :) |

| Middle distance (WRE) of the 1st day of Ackov Cup. I started great, continued well on the long leg to the 2nd and then did one of the stupidest mistakes ever on the 3rd. The leg was 500m: over the hill and down to the valley and then up to the control. Simple. With courage from 2nd control I got down the wrong valley on the wrong side of the slope (90 degrees mistake - I wasnt really following the compass, since everything seemed clear). In the bottom of the valley I have been asking myself who the f* made this funny map and have been later searching 11:30 minutes for the control on the wrong hill - parallel to the right one. Disaster. I made a few small mistakes, many times I have been just too careful with map reading. However to the 5th I lost 2:30 again when looking too high. 14:10 of mistakes on the middle course is quite disastrous. With time around 45 I wouldn't have been much better in places, but - it would feel like a decent race. I guess no points for WRE this time for me. Salopek ran around 34', Kaniski 35', Virgis 62'.
The race was held on last year's World Military O-Championships on Kljucic brdo near Zagreb. The northern part of the map is quite tricky and nice and very similar to the terrain I expect next weekend for Slovenian League. |

| Foot-O race was continued by Trail-O race. I didn't have much patience with the controls, made a few stupid mistakes (once I also had luck) and ended in the 2nd place, which might mean, I am 2nd best Trail-O guy in the world, since only World Championa managed to beat me. ;) 3 Slovenes in front of the Croatian team. Quite the opposite than in Foot-O. ;) |

| I started in decent tempo, and ran a solid race. I made 2 bigger mistakes - to CP3, where I lost suprisingly only a minute or so, and to CP 14, where I lost around 6 minutes in the steep terrain. The race was hilly - part of the course was equal to elite (except the put out every 2nd control, but route choice remained practically the same).
From 14 to 15 and 16 there was quite some ascent. I didn't really see the point of that, otherwise the race was a pleasure. ;)
Oh, yes. Yet another victory. However in M35 I would have been only 9th. :) |
