Running with Andraz and Ivan. I started from home, met Andraz in 5 minutes, then Ivan in the next 5, up to Golovec and then cruising around. In the middle a bit of rest (Andraz made his intervals) and then back. For Andraz this was a run out, for me it was quite a long training.

I feel my knee.

N.C. Sprint. Nice forrest sprint, fast and technical. I was not very well accustomed to the scale and standard, besides I was slow with my thinking. I had to stop a lot and recheck things. I went very secure.

Warm up before the race. I was also organiser today of the Pre-O race, but I left it behind and concentrated on the clubs championships race. 25 prior to my start I left the finish area for a warm up. It was a nice thing to do, which let me start quite well.

Clubs championships OK Azimut - the race of the year

It was a lovely race today on the map of Martinj Hrib 2. Terrain amazing and very technical, course great and again very technical (up to the finish itself - no simple last leg, no simple leg at all).

I started with reserve - using the paths, getting aquainted with the map. Then I accelerated. I ran alone, Janez to far ahead, other competitors quite slow behind. I was not really full speed, but I was accurate and I practically nailed CP's up to 6th. Amazing, really. And I was in the lead on the CP6! Really smooth. I made first major mistake then - 1'. I was not careful and I have been looking for the CP on the cluster of rocks too early. And then got a bit irritated and really didn't see the flag (an I was looking at the right spot). At this point I felt tired. Really tired. And my speed lowered quite a bit. Also my technique was not that perfect anymore. I went OK to 8th, completely misjudged 9th as I had seen it was in the valley (not on the hill!). Another very good leg was to 10th, however Janez was extremely fast here. I took a bad route choice to 11th, I slowly left the previous CP, going low, not directly and I complicated too much. Another amazing leg was to 13th - again I left aside my original plan to follow the route far around and kept a straight line with some additional unmaped small paths leading the direction. However - I don't remember running the crucial part of this leg. ;)

Overall I am satisfied. One of the best races - I slowed down when I needed to and I ran a perfect half of the course. Not very fast though.

I ran through the Trail-O race today. The problem was that I was left behind with no map (after prize giving for the clubs championships) and then I started by far the last and had to keep up. I made decisions about CP's instantly. Not taking much time. Looking at the map even when running. I only took time for 2 CP's. The hury did cost me 1 point (which would get me to 2nd or 3rd place), but ... 6th place was very good - beating 2007 World Champion, 2007 World Paralympic Champion and Silver Medalist from WTOC 2008 in Paralympic. :) Damn. :) Vlado was great (2.) and Dusa (7.).

Running on Golovec. First part slowly with Teja (2.5km), then 2km loop with Dejan, then another loop alone and then 2.5km back. Tempo with Dejan and running by myself was quite decent.

Today we had an orienteering-like competition on Ro?nik, held for candidates for the members of Slovenian parliament. Orienteering was a success. I helped on one CP and visited one more on the way back.

Standard lap on the PST. I have eaten 4.5hours ago (pizza) and I felt it in my stomach and I could not run. I had many such experiences lately, which means I should not eat a major meal at lest 6 hours prior to competitions, which is crucial in the races with late starts. I've never performed well there.

I felt my knee, but it is allright. Besides I ran almost the whole track without any acceleration.
