Orienteering race 1:41:07 [2] *** 8.2 km (12:20 / km) +400m 9:55 / km
spiked:23/23c shoes: New Balance 765
Last day of OO.cup/2007. Continetal terrain, quite green. Have felt strong in the beginning, but in the first uphill I was already dead. Had no fun in orienteering. I have been slow, walking a lot. By the 9th control I started having fun. It was OK up to 17th, then I lost it again.

Made 3' of mistakes, but I was stil extremely slow.

Besides it was raining heavily (though, this is something I love) and it was 14 degrees (in the previous days above 30).

Sunday Jul 29

Hiking warm up/down 30:00 [3] 2 km (15:00 / km) +300m 8:34 / km
shoes: New Balance 765
There was a hike up to the start today. Felt extremely tired from yesterday.
Orienteering race 1:53:31 [3] *** 9.2 km (12:20 / km) +300m 10:37 / km
spiked:29/29c shoes: New Balance 765
Long distance race today at the OO.cup/2007. Another proof that I am not ready for elite running. Physically. Race was mostly technically immaculate for me. I only made one mistake at the end of the race, when I was a bit worn out. Otherwise 7'50'' of mistakes.

Orienteering was not too difficult. You mostly had to follow a path and then attack a nearby point. Race also contained a few running legs, which I didn't really like. There have been a few uphill legs that I hated ...

Otherwise a decent enough race. Have been slow. Made a lot of walking.
I was thinking that my technique exceeds my running abilities these days, but then again - is it true? I still had to stop from time to time and take a peek at the map, I still made a few dummy mistakes ...

Saturday Jul 28

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1 km (10:00 / km) +10m 9:31 / km
shoes: New Balance 765
Warm up before the race. Slow. Felt quite tired from yesterdays race.
Orienteering race 48:42 [4] *** 4.3 km (11:20 / km) +150m 9:39 / km
spiked:19/19c shoes: New Balance 765
OO.cup/2007 - 3rd day.

Race today was much better than yesterday. Not so much uphill and technically much more demanding. 20CP's on 4.3km made realy dense chain of controls. It was really fun.

I started with some caution, felt the terrain allright and then made a really good leg to CP2. I went on OK. I made a little mistake on CP9 (it's my old problem of multiple crossroads) - I took the wrong path, took me 10 seconds or so to realize and to run back. I blew 2 minutes to CP14 (I left the control in the wrong direction - happens quite a lot to me ...). CP16 was over the hill - I was slow - could not run. On the 18th I also left control in the completely wrong direction.

Overall - I was satisfied with my performance. Read the map fairly good and accurate, I have been running quite fast. Much better than yesterday.

Winning time in elite was around 30' or maybe a bit less.

Friday Jul 27

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 1 km (20:00 / km) +40m 16:40 / km
shoes: New Balance 765
Warm up before the race. Felt ok, even strong.
Orienteering race 1:13:44 [4] *** 6.2 km (11:54 / km) +300m 9:35 / km
spiked:17/17c shoes: New Balance 765
2nd day of OO.cup/2007. Nice scenery, but race on the open ... Not very demanding. Made practically no mistakes, except for a minute or something, when I ran the in the wrong direction from the CP, but noticed it immediately. I made one bad route choice. It was just - run-and-climb. Not a very nice race.
Hiking 45:00 [2] 3.0 mi (14:59 / mi) +200m 7:43 / km
Hiking up and down from/to Velika/Mala Planina.

Thursday Jul 26

Event: OO Cup 5-Days

Tuesday Jul 17

Running 30:00 [3] 6 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance 1022
Did an evening training on the Holmer track. Three laps of warm-up + stretching, then 3 quite fast laps (from 4:00 to 4:30), then 2 more slow laps and final sprint + stretching.

Friday Jul 13

Note
I have been away in Spain for 14 days on a summer school. I planned to make some running trainings but failed. Anyway - every day there was some swimming, beach games (including intensity 5 football).
