| NOT, "korenine". Smooth orienteering on simple track. GPS helped a few times to be more certain of where we were. Technical part great (best team in morse and topographic test on the competition, good CP drawing). We have been extremely fast on the speed leg (4th or 5th team overall, and we most certainly have gone quite slowly).

| In night race in Udin Borst I managed to forget to turn my Silva 478 lamp off and had a deep discharge of the battery. According to some web sources this might harm my NiMh battery. I had quite some problem to fill the battery up and today I tested it (1 month after recharging).
20W - 2:15 (should be 2:40) In UB the lamp died after 2:10 (it was colder and it has been charged one week prior to the event). 4:30 in 10W for NOT this year should be OK. Reserve 4.5NiMh accumulator is on the way ...

| 2nd race of OLP on Rajda 2 map in my home town, Cerkno. It was great to have a race organised at practically my front door. I have been wondering, what the course would be like. The steep terrain didn't leave the organiser with much choice, however it has been interesting. There are a few 'tactical' things one has to know, when running on steep terrain. We started with almost 100m of ascent to the first CP. Track to the 2nd has been interesting. to the third it was again - up, then down and then up again. 4 and 5 have been nice and could be fast. Also 6 and 7 have been a pleasure. Running on the road to the 8th has been a bit of a course saver, then there was a nice run to the 9th, over the hill to 10th and then great leg from 11 to 12 on a very detailed slope.
My mistakes: CP 2 - 10" (got 5 meters above) CP 3 - 30" (bad route choice and bad map reading) CP 6 - 10" (too much map reading instead of just running) CP 9 - 20" (didn't see the flag where it should be, the ditch was more shallow than on the map) CP 10 - 2' (didn't see the CP from the path, ran too far, old map doesn't show ending of the wider path correctly) CP 12 - 15" (too much map reading, didn't want to go too far, too careful) CP 14 - 1'30" (old map - clearing is not shown well, had to look all around the place to persuade myself to check "deeper") -- 5 minutes of mistakes all together We should use our maps more often, even if they are this steep. The race is easier to organize, it's easier to go and run. Oh, yes. I won. :) In front of younger guys with far better physical ability and the course has been physical. And yes. There was 360m of climb (not 280, as organiser calculated). ;)

| Easy tempo. Much simpler to run then 2 days ago. An old injury of the back (some extra lipid tissue on my lower back is causing pressure and pain) is starting to get more serious, but - I guess this is only pain. ;) So, that we can manage. :) I have to go to the procedure to get it removed ... Once.
Anyway - slow is good so far.

| I have been at the chasing start (last line) before the competition and it happens that I can not really run well after such an asignment. I am just too distracted. So - firstly - 3:30 mistake on a relatively simple first leg. I made so many stupid mistakes. Up to the third CP it was a simple course, however, I needed to make a stop for (...) :) on a way to the third. 3'. To the 4th I lost it again 7' and from then on it went better. I made some good legs. Again I lost it to the 10th where I couldn't follow the north bearing. 30 degrees mistake. 3 minutes. Otherwise this was a fast ran leg - just the way it should be.
I lost my motivation on the 4th completely. Have had 15 minutes of mistakes there already. Bad race with 19' of mistakes alltogether.

| 1st DAY of Lipica Open. I let T. G. win in M21E so I ran M21A. I lost 30 seconds on the start when putting the map in the foil, 15' to 3rd when I was a bit too much careful, 10' to 5th, 1' to 8th when passing the control (thinking it was in the next depression), 10' to 9th, 3' to 10th (long one), when I got a bit lost in between (though I was still relatively OK in direction) and then in the end when I went too far and had to return back. I took a bad route choice to 11th - 30', 10' to 12th and 10' to 17th. Small mistakes are due to unoptimal route on microlevel. Alltogether - 5:15. When finished it didn't seem that much, but still - I am relatively satisfied.
Course was OK. I got a bloody blister on my heel. I wonder how it will be tomorrow. I still can not push myself to run in higher pace. FOR THE RECORD: I have beaten J. Jazbar for 3' today. ;) Otherwise - Grega Raj, Ale? Poljan?ek and Matej Sedej ran better.

| Had to do quick control setting for todays sprint race. The whole night I have been drawing the o-map and finished at around 9AM, then cought 2 hours of sleep, after that a struggle to get my printer working, buying things for the race and in the end, baking a cake. ;)
The race succeeded, I think. People seemed to enjoy. :) Nice.

| Oh, well. Got one category below my limit and won a big time. ;) 9 minutes gap before the 2nd in the MC category. Ran a mistakeless race (well, according to previous races, where I made for 20 and more minutes of mistakes) - 45 seconds lost. But it was really simple and fast. I enjoyed it. I had time to remember about pushing myself to run faster, which is something I forgot through the winter. I am mostly always running some easy tempo. | ||

| Sort of Score-O. Usually I don't like them. But today it was cool. I ran pretty great, except for one control, where I lost it the first time and proceedded to the other. Then tried to attacked it from another angle. Got completely lost 2 times, and only the 3rd time I succeeded. I am not tired. Which is funny. | ||
