Friday Oct 31

Cycling (indoor) 42:00 [4] 21.5 km (1:57 / km)
Bad weather, calf injury ... Indoor cycling seemed like a solution. I am sweating like a pig. ;)

Saturday Oct 25

Last race for Slovenian National League. Ah, sweet victory. :)

I started OK. Not the fastest, but solid. Nailing CP's choosing attackpoints carefully. I had to look for some flags for a few seconds, but I started looking for a bit more hidden controls within the range of 10m. It was interesting that I was good in the long distances today. Really making some of the very best times here.

5:30 of mistakes, one bad route choice of about 2 minutes, although I am not really sure.

Still - a lot of climb on the track so ... Not really very fast.

Janez: 68'.

Bacnar and Knap ran together the whole course. Loosers. :)

Thursday Oct 23

Running 30:30 [3] 5.8 km (5:16 / km) +15m 5:11 / km
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Skylon
Running the standard lap, slowly with Nejc. Still feeling my calves.

Sunday Oct 19

Event: Autumn O-meeting/08 Slovenia

Running ABC's/Stretching 40:00 [2] 3 km (13:20 / km) +100m 11:26 / km
shoes: New Balance 1023
Long warm up and stretching before the race. My muscles felt tense today, so I didn't want to leave anything to fortune today. Besides - long warm up before middle distance helps me a lot with concentration and running.

My right calf still feels very tense and sore ...
Orienteering race 37:38 [4] *** 3.6 km (10:27 / km) +190m 8:16 / km

Slovenian league M21A is a funny category. The winner is always the guy who makes the least mistakes on the course. Splitsbrowser shows that I didn't really run that well or that fast today, also analysis shows that I've made many little mistakes. Only controls 2, 10, 12 and 14 I ran clearly. All the rest are mistakes from 5s - 1min. But there was no real big mistake, which is very positive. Alltogether I made 4:25 of mistakes.

What to say? It was a lovely race. Organisation seemed to me - as a competitor quite flawless, although there might have been some serious mistakes. If anything - I would suggest another speaker to the club and some faster prize giving ceremonies.

I started reserved. Getting acquainted with the map. Following paths, which were nothing like I'd expected. I started looking for CP1 too soon, but luckily I got on quickly. First bigger mistake was to CP3, where I was pretty unsure about myself, but again I had some luck, catching up with the hunter lounge. CP4 was much trickier than I expected. I got up to the path too soon (before the start) and have been looking later for the prominent tree in the green. Next CP was clear, but again I missed my direction a bit, same was with CP6, CP7 was a bit of a route choice, but I followed the contours very carefully, CP8 was another mistake - I went too low. To CP9 was simple, I just got caught up in a green ditch and had a bit of trouble finding the right path. CP10 was clear and nice. Also 11 and 12. I only made a mistake on CP16, where I didn't read the map well and got distracted by another O-flag on a different crossing of the paths. Last CP should be simple, but again - it was not - at least if one was unsure of himself.

Overall - it was a great race, course setting a bit simple, but sometimes I like it that way. Anyway - it feels great in the end.

And of course - another victory, which was the only acceptable result today. :)

Looking up to M21E - I would have been clearly around the last place there. There is a big gap between the two categories.

Setting up controls for the OLP race. We have been late, so ... I have set a few CP's just before competitors were there. ;) Beautiful forrest under Hlevise! I didn't imagine ... And also demanding terrain. Some karstic parts, some steep slopes and hills to get some route-choices. Really great.

Note
I am the official timetaking team :) for Slovenian Orienteering Marathong which is being held over the southern Bohinj mountains. It is a really spectacular day today there.
