Running warm up/down 25:00 [3] 5 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Lops
Running to the start of TRAINING 4 ... And running back to the car. Again - quite fast with the guys.

Running TRAINING 4 (control picking) ... 32 controls ... Made plenty of small mistakes and one boom. Alltogether 12 minutes of mistakes. Quite a disaster.

Terrain was nice and map was OK, so ... It is mostly fault of me not being focused. Need to get better running by compass and judging distance.

Andraz went arounr 26', Jure around 34'.

Part of the course I ran with Jure, being physically slower, but technically partly better.

And one more thing ... In the middle of the course I had to go to WC ... The same thing happened in the afternoon too. Funny. I never before had such an urge that it could not wait untill the end. Hummm ...
Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 4 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Lops
Running to the start of training 9. Then back because I've forgot the map and then running back from the training itself.

Made the TRAINING 9 with the Czech team on the SportIdent (I still need to print the results). Anyway - this was a disaster. Not only for Jure and Daniel and me, but also for some top Czech girls. So it seems. Map was OK, but navigation in such terrain was ... Well quite impossible. There were many things to be read from the map and there were many decisions that were left to the judgement. I made plenty of mistakes, but did not analyze the run yet.

Andraz ran around 27', which was very decent and better from a few Czech runners. Daniel finished the course early, Jure spent around 80'.

Running warm up/down 23:00 [3] 4.6 km (5:00 / km) +10m 4:57 / km
shoes: VJ Lops
Running to the start of the training 8 in Portugal training camps in Mira. We started too fast for me, but I could manage the tempo. Part of the track has been run through the woods. On the way back I thought we have been slower and in the end we did a fast sprint through the woods! Amazing!

For the record: I am in Portugal training camps before POM 2007 with Andraz, Daniel, Jaka and Jure - the so called Slovenian O-Team. We flew in today after 1 cancelation and 1 missed flight through Trieste and London. We are staying at Apart Hotel Mira.

TRAINING 8
For our first session we took short training near the hotel. Jaka is still a bit ill so he could not join us. Terrain is fast although it has partly quite some undergrowth. It is sandy which makes it a little bit more difficult to run, but ... Overall it is very fast. Details can be easily read from the map and it is no problem running glued to the map even with the night without sleep. I managed to do a good race, thought I made a few mistakes which I was very slow solving them. Although during the race it didn't feel like I lost much time, I calculated in the end that I blew 5:30 away on the course. I am satisfied anyway, since time is quite good for me and as I was able to push quite hard during the course.

This feeling might be misleading since orienteering is not difficult at all. Maybe only sometimes at micro-level.

Andraz ran 26', Jure 29' and Daniel almost 31'.

Running 37:00 [4] 7.4 km (5:00 / km) +20m 4:56 / km
shoes: New Balance 1023
On our way to Portugal ... Due to bad weather we finished in Pliskovica - 100km from Ljubljana. Great job for a 10 hour travel. Anyway - it was a stressful day dealing with all logistic stuff about our transfer to POM.

In the end - we did a short "easy" run ... Being the weekest of the team it was not so easy for me. :) Nice warm air and good company ...
Running ABC's/Stretching 5:00 [3]
After and before running.

Note
One interesting obsevation from yesterdays race. I have seen results and was surprised by how the perception of time loss might differ from real world. Going to the one control before last one I made a mistake. Ran after Kreso down a staircase ... At the bottom I found out that CP was on the top. Ran there and then back to the finish. I have lost two minutes with that - when I tried to judge my loss here, I'd say about 30-45 seconds. Interesting.
