Orienteering race 1:09:39 [3] *** 5.01 km (13:54 / km) +220m 11:24 / km
spiked:15/15c shoes: Leaf Trekking
I ran a slow race today. My knee injury started to bother me seriously on the 2nd CP and then I really could not run any more to the 6th. I felt severe discomfort when running downhill. I made a few minutes of mistakes because of a badly printed map (my actual CP's were on the edge of the circle and not in the middle), when I found out I really need to check the control descriptions it was easier. I made practically no mistakes looking for CP's on microlevel (except when this was the case because of the misprint), I spend 2 minutes looking for my lost start paper and I made several bad route choices. First was to 4, when I followed the path over the hill instead of following a contour ... 20'. Next was to the 6th, I should go either over the hill and follow the path or around ... It would be better for me to go around. 2'. Then to the 8th, I went by the hill to the path and then up instead of crossing the saddle and going more directly. I was tired and felt better not running so steep slopes. To the 9th I went around by the path. It would be better to follow the small path in the middle ... Or not. To the 10th I didn't feel like crossing the complicated terrain, but went 40m higher and ran by the path. This as a bad route choice. 2' lost I would say. And I ran very careful at the end ... It was not a race for result.

This was my first race on the Martinj Hrib map. The terrain is awesome in the late november. Better than in spring and summer. Course setting was interesting. I never thought one could make such route choice challanges on this map.

The race was nice, well organised for a first-timer, tent in the finish, well done entries, good start, maps in foils, published start list, prepared. The few minuses were the
- bad prints
- some funny course setting (which on the other hand was great in a way for the level of race)
- route to the start area which was a bit difficult to find

Can't wait for the results. ;)

Orienteering 55:00 [3] *** 5.3 km (10:23 / km) +80m 9:39 / km
spiked:12/12c shoes: Leaf Trekking
Training on Dutovlje map ... Nice and fast first part (Jazbar is really good), then a tiny mistake and drop of the tempo.
Note
(injured)
Hurt my knee ... It's painful today. I hope it gets better tomorrow. My ankle sprain is not very stable ...

Monday Nov 19

Note
(sick)
Here we go ... On Friday it started, yesterday I've been running and waiting so the race and organisational things have been closed ... And today I am sick ...
