I made a nice and fast race, except that I made 2 major booms on 6th (talking to Cesare around the fifth and leaving the control with really high speed) and 8th (got out of the map). On these 2 controls I had for 11 minutes of mistakes alone and then I had some small mistakes when stopping and reading the map, where not really needed.

Rok: 47', Franc: 52'

Bottom line of OO.cup 2008: I need to get rid of the big booms. If place is important I should take it a bit more slowly and checking all my decisions. But there is no fun in that. It's good to push a bit over the limit. ;) Big booms are not a problem in Slovenian League, but with lots of competitors one needs to be a bit more careful.

Running ABC's/Stretching warm up/down 30:00 [3] 4 km (7:30 / km) +55m 7:01 / km
shoes: VJ Sarva
Warm up on the way to start and warm down on the way from the finish.

Started disasterous today. To the first I knew that I was too high, but I don't know, why I insisted. found CP2 before 1 and therefore I have best 1-2 leg. :) Missed CP3 because I was thinking paths are not very well visible and missed the right bearing after that. CP4 was allright, but I stopped a few times to readjust my attack plan. I missed the right path to CP5 and attacked from the road, I misjudged greens/open land near the CP and made another mistake. 6th was OK, but I was not very self confident anymore. I went slowly on ... CP9 was a bit lower than I expected. I felt like I did a good leg to 11th. It was a good leg indeed but others made it even better. :)

I made for 11' of mistakes.
Today didn't feel like a good race. I am a bit tired after 3 stages, now 4. I feel like running more every day, but legs are heavy in the beginning of each race. I am not very agile in the uphill parts, etc.

Many competitors in the category punish every mistake you make. Sometimes it is nice to broaden the experience of Slovenian league. :)

Rokm is getting a bit too good. Impossible to beat if any mistakes are made. I need to push some presidents buttons to get him removed. :)

3rd stage of OO.cup on Mala Lazna. I started with reserve to the 1st and then saw that it is behind a big hill. Terrain was difficult to run, so I have been slow. CP3 was not set correctly (humm!), but was seen from distance. I nailed most of the controls, but there was so much uphill ... Leg to the 10th was not very good, since the best way was to go follow leg 8-7. It was not really a sprint like race. I made a few 15" and a couple of 30" mistakes. Mostly due to stopping in the middle of the leg, rechecking the terrain. I had no energy left at the end of the race and I have been slow.

Today I didn't feel like I did a physically good race.

Running ABC's/Stretching 15:00 [2] 1.5 km (10:00 / km) +20m 9:22 / km
shoes: VJ Sarva
Warm up on the way to start.
Orienteering race 44:51 [4] **** 4.2 km (10:41 / km) +50m 10:05 / km

I ran a nice and almost mistakeless race. Speed seemed to be OK (I don't know why Rokm is complaining about his). I was a bit unsure about my first control, then I nailed the next 3. 5th was in a bit more detailed area, I slowed down and doublechecked my AP. I was not ideal to the 7th, but I intentionally ran slowly, not to miss it. I made a small mistake (15"). I exited a bit out of bearing to the road (10"), made a small mistake when attacking the control (10"), to the 9th I was a bit out of power, but nailed it nicely. I ran on the road to the 10th - it was a faster route choice, but had no energy left when climbing. I ran smoothly to 11th, but again I was unable to run uphill. Next mistake was 13th, seems I lost about 2' although it didn't feel like it. I missed exiting the control (15") and then the correct path. I took a different route choice after that. Not good. I was influenced by the runner in front of me. Leg to 14th was simple, however I misread the terrain - there as a giant hill and not a depression, but it also seems that I ran out of energy. To 15th I also made a little mistake (30"), but it was simple.

Rok was 1'30" behind. 3'20" of mistakes. I probably could push faster at some places. I am satisfied.

1st day of OO.cup on Mala Lazna. Lovely clear terrain, detailed, but still decently fast. Lovely.

I started well, getting acquainted with the map. First leg was a bit tricky. I went on slowly, catching features, and it went OK. I have been very careful to 2nd, and from then on I found a few bigger contour object to orienteer and I went on really decent. I should've finished with the time around 40 minutes, but I missed control 8 (100m from 7). I needed 14:30 minutes for 100m leg. Disaster. I rendered the terrain completely wrong in my mind, a couple of small long hills were engulfing the control on the map, but ... There has been no couple of hills, just a bigger hill with a ditch. I missed it the first time, returned to 7th, missed the second time, missed the third ... Disaster. I went OK to 9th, but another mistake to 10th. I knew that I should've followed the major road, but instead I took a bearing, for fun and fell out of the map. I needed a few minutes to relocate. 10 minutes of mistake here. Then pretty OK until the end.

25' of mistakes. Otherwise really great and fast. 38' would be a decent time.
