4 PM

Run 1:12:20 [3] 10.0 mi (7:14 / mi) +1250ft 6:28 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson EVO

Zoo to Cornell and back. Actually felt really good. Sure the sunshine helped. Kept it steady and just focused on not losing focus...
Now it's time for a massage.
5 PM

Massage 1:00:00 [3]

Back at it. So glad. Walked out on clouds...

Note
(sick)

Woke up yesterday with sore throat. More of the same today. Really fatigued. Par for the course lately. Gonna get some bloodwork this week and try to nail some stuff down...

9 AM

Run 3:00:00 [3] 22.0 mi (8:11 / mi) +2000ft 7:32 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson B

Another frustrating run. Hit an energy wall hard about mile 19. Felt like a death march--sorry Trev. Felt relatively ok the first 13-15 miles...I like running with Trevor. Super slippery--lots of "down" time.
I just want to feel good running...

5 PM

Run 37:15 [3] 5.0 mi (7:27 / mi) +500ft 6:48 / mi

Quickie before picking up Harlow. Upper Macleay to birch and back.

Run 2:20:00 [3] 17.75 mi (7:53 / mi) +2000ft 7:08 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson EVO

CC/Cornell loop. Wet trails and old head torch batteries kept the pace very easy...nice run. Felt good throughout. Like the crisp, damp weather.

Run 44:10 [3] 6.8 mi (6:30 / mi)

Mile WU
5 miles 6:15 pace (31:20)
.8 CD
Much harder than it should be, but better than I expected...

8 AM

Run 3:11:00 [3] 23.0 mi (8:18 / mi) +1250ft 7:54 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson B

Blah. Roads to ridge trail, up to Leif, maple back to Leif, alder to wildwood, wild cherry to Leif, roads home. For whatever reason, running is hard right now. No climbing legs and trouble holding 7:30 on the flats. Hip felt fine, but I don't know what's up..,

11 PM

Run 2:20:00 [3] 17.0 mi (8:14 / mi) +2000ft 7:25 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson B

Up to pittock, down to burnside, 2x top and back, over to archery field, roads home. Nice mellow night. Definitely something going on with my right hip. Not a lot of pep tonight, but good to get out.

Tuesday May 15, 2012 #

11 PM

Run 1:14:30 [3] 10.0 mi (7:27 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Stinson B

Easy on the bluff. No gps or tunes. Me and my head.

12 PM

Run 4:00:00 [3] 23.0 mi (10:26 / mi) +4000ft 8:58 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson EVO

Mac forest DNF. Legs were shot less than hour into this. Spent two hours walking the course trying to get the hell back to the start. Eventually caught a ride from the 4th aid station. WTF? Training has been weak at best...can't fake these things. Back to square one.

Tuesday May 8, 2012 #

11 PM

Run 38:20 [3] 6.03 mi (6:21 / mi)
ahr:155 shoes: Hoka Stinson B

Quick bluff run. Anything but steady. Tried to put some surges in and ease off at times. Just see where my legs are and keep things interesting...

Sunday May 6, 2012 #

9 AM

Run 3:40:00 [3] 20.0 mi (11:00 / mi) +4750ft 8:59 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson EVO

Gorge with Trev. Angels rest headlamp (0500) start. Larch mtn. Minus about the last mile due to snow and time constraints. Probably ten+ minutes of stopping included in total time (didn't stop watch). Beautiful morning. Good to see Trevor again and have some company. Really good.
No breakfast and took in no calories--felt pretty awesome. Definitely ran easy and walked some of the climbs rather than dig too much. Want to be rested next weekend...

Run 1:29:30 [3] 12.6 mi (7:06 / mi) +1250ft 6:30 / mi
shoes: Hoka Stinson B

Wasn't sure what to expect after last night, but this turned out to be a great run. Just very steady, relaxed, and focused.

Note

Went out for a run, but at two miles turned it into a walk. Vety stressed and had a lot of shit on my mind to get straightened out, and running just wasn't working. Actually ended up bring quite productive and enjoyable.
