An interesting day for me on the Green course at Box Canyon. First off, I probably shouldn't be doing the green. I have done less than a handful of courses, and my physical conditioning just isn't where my map-reading is. Also, I don't actually know what I am doing. It took me a while to get into it, and then about half way through I rolled my ankle which still hurts. But, it was fun.
More about the course... As I recall, I had issues with 1 (I really need to prepare a little bit before I just run off); 4 (looking up the wrong drainage but very convinced that I was right... Also had no idea what the symbol meant, I should probably learn some of those... I got back on track when I used some electrical poles to navigate off of). 2-3 were good, navigationally, 5-7 felt good except for the rolled ankle, which occurred frolicking down to 6 which lead to me needing to sit down and take a breather before I could walk again. I also lost count of the drainage hunting for 8, but recovered relatively quickly. I also need to remember that I can use vegetation mapping for navigation.
Based on the injury/near injury rate, I might need to beg off these until after the tri.
Afterward I took Becks to Pico de Gallo for TACOS.
