Long Run 10:23:00 [3] 47.5 mi (13:07 / mi)
Run Rabbit Run 50 on rerouted course due to fire, so shorter.
Super pleased with this race! The first three hours there was a lot of smoke and I was running at 80%, but thankfully the wind changed directions and didn't impact the rest of the race. This and the hike up the hill made the first 1/3 of the race really long, but my overall time was great in my mind.
Never sat down or stopped except to refill bottles at aid. I think this was the first long race where I didn't eat any food but just Gus and Tailwind. It went well and my stomach was good the whole race.
Gear, nutrition and hydration were all spot on. No blisters or chafing.
After mile 20, I only got passed but one guy, and I reposed him later. I passed many people.
I ran the last 6.4 down the ski road in 48:00, so I was really pleased with how my quads held up. I was also running the flats and downhills before that.
The rerouted course was on the 100 mile course for the last 30 miles so that was cool to see all of those runners and get such a good feel for the 100. We also got to see the top 100 guys finishing. So impressive.
Didn't listen to music but focused on race.
There really isn't much I would do differently. My energy didn't flag at the end so nutrition wasn't the normal problem. Maybe get a newer and lighter pack.
I had my phone and thankfully Molly didn't deliver this weekend, but I was sure checking :)
