Leadville 100, dropped at Winfield after I could not breathe.

Practice race routine on rolling trail, same gear and kit and really tried to visualize the LT100. Ran at 500 AM so some practice with headlamp.

TM- 5 minute warmup then 30 min at 841 at 4%. Got a good sweat going.

Easy run on rolling road and trail. Took it very easy.

Drove up to Echo Lake. Hiked/Ran almost all the way up Mt. Spaulding, all over 11,000 feet, probably up to 13600. Slow pace hike and then run down but felt good.

Hill Intervals 50:00 [3] 5.02 mi (9:58 / mi)

TM- 10 minutes easy at beginning and end. Then 30 minutes of minute on minute off with 830 at 8% for the hard minute and 4% at 4 mph for the easy minute - walking. I made sure that each of the hard intervals was for the full minute so the lowering and raising and speeding and slowing were actually done during the easy minute. Good workout, but not close to destroyed at the end.

60 minutes rolling trails. Mixed in 8 intervals of !:30 at probably 650 or 700 pace. Felt strong but didn't wear GPS so not sure.

Walking 1:00:00 [3] 4.3 mi (13:57 / mi)

TM walking warmup for 5 minutes to 10% at 4.2. Then 4.2 at 15% for 55 minutes. This is by far the best walking workout I have ever had. Can't believe I was able to do this. Good confidence boost.

Three miles easy with jogging stroller for 2 kids. Not sore from yesterday.

Long Run 5:45:00 [3] 17.0 mi (20:18 / mi)

17 miles, all above 10000 feet. Started at Echo Lake at 445 AM and ran, mostly hiked to the top of Mt. Spaulding (138000) by Mt. Evans. Then hiked/ran down, it is pretty steep and rocky so ran as I could. Got back to the car in a little under 5 hours and left my pack and ran another 45 minutes.

Felt very good like I could go all day (and I'll need to :) soon).
