Long Run 2:47:00 [3] 10.5 mi (15:54 / mi)

Super snowy trail run up Chimney Gulch. 2,058 feet of gain. Most of run was through 3-7 inches of snow and blowing wind. My gear was fine except I needed to wear ski gloves (I had goggles). Needless to say I was the only one out there and I didn't quite get the distance I needed but I did plenty of mental and physical work and so I called it a bit early.

Long Run 2:30:00 [3] 16.7 mi (8:59 / mi)

Flat road run through the dark after work. 8:40 per mile, this would have been nearly sub 8:30 if you took out the first mile in which I ran with the dog and he is slow and had to use the bathroom. Splits- 941, 903, 849, 833, 823, 841, 831, 830, 844, 839, 841, 835, 832, 826, 820, 834, 754. These splits are also pretty nature pace because I was only checking my GPS every half hour or so to make sure I was running fast enough. Took good mental effort to get out there in the cold and dark but that is good training.

Super Slow Run 1:00:00 [3] 5.8 mi (10:21 / mi)

Ultra pace on roads through the dark. Pace was 10:16. I was trying to maintain between 10 and 11 mpm. Felt pretty comfortable but it is good to practice this as the pace wanted to creep up.

Weights 20:00 [3]

Leg and arm weights right after long/ultra pace run.

Easy long 58:00 [3] 6.4 mi (9:04 / mi)

Easy rolling road run at about 9:00 pace. Not sore from yesterday but definitely tired.

Intervals 1:15:00 [3] 9.5 mi (7:54 / mi)

Warmup and cooldown on roads, rest on TM.

TM - 7:05 for 15 minutes, 5 min. recovery at 8:30. Then 10 intervals of 8:27 at 8% for 1 minute with 2 minute recovery. I did make sure to get the ramp up way early so that the interval was fully at this level.

This one was great and really signaled we are ramping it up. I am logging this two days later and last night I slept for 9 hours because I was still so whipped. This week will be hard but we are making great progress.
