Split analysis from 2017
mile 13.5 2017- 3:02 2018- 3:01
mile 25 2017 - 5:12 2018-5:11:30
mile 37.5 2017 7:38 2018 -7:42
mile 50 2017 10:51 2018 - 1041

In 2017, I got 93 out of 455, and 105 out of 473.

Nutrition - I was really on the 100 calories every half hour for nearly the entire race until the last hour. I also took Salt tabs early on in the heat. Nutrition was good.

Hydration - I only peed twice. I was drinking throughout the day though. I think my hydration was fine, maybe could have drank a bit more but it cooled off so much with the rain after the first 7 hours that I don't think it was an issue.

Gear- used almost everything I had and gear worked well. No issue. I had a rain jacket, thank goodness, in the rain some of the guys only had a tshirt and looked very cold.

Race effort/focus- In the second half, I passed almost 100 people, including 7 in the last 2 or 3 miles. I was pleased with this and how I stayed on top of things until the end.

Rest/stopping- I never sat down. I never visited the woods. I never really even stood still. I would say I stopped for 30 seconds in each aid station, but got in an out and almost always passed people in the aid stations.

Body- my quads held up even for the downhill the last 8 or 9 miles. My back got a little sore, but nothing bad. No blisters. No puking.

I was in 273 place at mile 13 so maybe I should have started a bit harder, but that just isn't my style. Plus, if the rain hadn't come in, the heat would have let me pass more people as I do most years. I think I just have to face the reality that I am getting a bit older :)
