Running long (Cool down jog) 35:46 [1] 7.13 km (5:01 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Capping off a good weeks training and two hard sessions at the end of the week, I decided to do a slow jog to Midland Gate Shopping Centre. It was very enjoyable. I felt a little bit tight from a semi-hard week but it was very refreshing.

Running tempo (sub 4 minute km run) 34:32 [3] 8.8 km (3:55 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

I pulled up pretty well from my threshold run the day before so i decided to do a tempo run which involved going just under sub 4 minute km's.

I started the run really well and my stride felt good. At the 4km mark i turned around into a shocking head wind. That was a bit of fun but I held a strong tempo throughout. I felt very relieved to have finished as i was feeling the pinch a little towards the end.

Running (Threshold run) 20:30 [5] 5.8 km (3:32 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

I've now decided that every Thursday is my 6km threshold run day as it fits into my program well. Based on last weeks effort over 6km, I had it in my mind that I was going to beat that time and go sub 3.40mins per km.

I started off a little too hard but much to my suprise i was able to maintain a strong pace. I had no idea what sort of minutes per kilometre i was running but I knew I was onto a cracking pace. I started to feel a little bit fatigued at about the 5km mark but it wasn't overly bad.

Based on my time I thought I could have ran this a bit slower for training purposes. Neverless it was a suprising time which I ran. Next week I will have to forget the time I ran and lower my intensity.

Running long (slow run) 42:46 [1] 9.0 km (4:45 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

After 2 days of hard training, I decided to do a slow run in preparation for my threshold run the next day. My legs felt awfully tight for the first 5km's but felt a bit better as I got into a good rythm.

Running long (6km slow + 6km fast) 52:36 [4] 12.12 km (4:20 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Went for a evening run with Dean. We decided to run 4.30 min km pace. We ended up going slower than that in the first initial 6km. I felt very sore in my hips and out of rythm. Once i commenced the second 6km, i felt much better and we ended up nailing a sub 4 minute pace for the concluding 6km which was a suprise to us as we aimed to keep it more moderate. Good neverless!

Running (long run at medium pace) 49:59 [3] 12.12 km (4:07 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Perfect running conditions! The sun was slowly going down and there was a moderate to strong N/E breeze. I started off at a moderate pace and slowly worked my way up to sub 4 minute km's. I felt a slight twitch in my lower right calf. I'll monitor it over night and see what it feels like tomorrow. all in all a solid run to start the week.
