Running long (slow run) 28:11 [2] 6.7 km (4:12 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Nice slow recovery run from a solid weeks worth of training. felt good in stride and i tried to run with a higher knee action towards my chest. it took the strain off my hip flexer which was a little tight. it was bloody humid! i was sweating bullets! when i reached midland i thought i was in a sauna!

Running long (Aim for 4.20km's) 36:21 [3] 8.8 km (4:08 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

I felt nice and light on my feet and my length of stride was perfect. I maintained a good running technique throughout. My heart rate was a little bit to high for my liking for some unknown reason. Lovely weather for a twilight run around Bassendean and Guildford!

Running warm up/down (warm down) 23:47 [1] 4.5 km (5:17 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Nice little cool down jog from the threshold. intergestion only got worse :(

Running tempo (threshold run) 16:17 [5] 4.8 km (3:24 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Today I ate a late lunch and ended up going home from work early as I had my hair dressing appointment at 6.30 (yes i sound like a poof at the moment but it is true). i was full of wind and had a bit of intergestion so i knew this run was going to be tough.

I began really well, but a little too well as i was going faster than i intended. since i ran earlier today i encountered alot more traffic than usual, so i had to zig zag around cars.

By about the 3km mark my intergestion had well and truly set in. not to mention my neck was so stiff. by then my heart rate was pumping, so i decided to pull the pin early which i have never done but i was in alot of discomfort. even though i didnt complete the 6kms as intended i notched up some good sectionals.

Running (Slow run at mid 4min km's) 37:44 [2] 8.8 km (4:17 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

Felt a bit sore to begin with on the outstep of my left foot but nothing to write home about.

I did the first 4km's a bit quick as i had a tail breeze right up my ass which was very enjoyable. However, upon coming back, the breeze was so strong that there were times that i thought i was on a treadmill going up and down in the same spot!

I felt relaxed and completed a good low intensity session in preparation for tomorrows threshold.

Running long (4 minute km's) 47:32 [3] 12.12 km (3:55 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

As I began to run I felt very light on my feet with a bit of stiffness. It was a weird feeling but neverless I began well and lengthened my stride out more tonight. I felt very relaxed and controlled my tempo well. All in all a good session with a strong head wind which kept me honest!

I might have to implement my longer striding action for when I feel fatigued in a race. It took the strain off alot of my muscles.

Running long (strong tempo 12km) 46:41 [3] 12.12 km (3:51 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 17

I came home from work absolutley tired and stuffed. I decided to push my session out by an hour to have an hours nap. I ended up having a good 50 minute rest and i felt a little tired even when i woke up. so i waited 30 minutes to wake up!

I began my run feeling pretty good with a little bit of tightness in my right buttock but nothing serious. I began doing 3.55 - 4 min km's for the first 4km's and slowly worked myself into lower times per km as my legs worked into the run. One thing I noticed was that my breathing patterns were very relaxed and comfortable. maybe because i was getting fitter?

I managed to improve as the run went on and I felt very relaxed and smooth in my stride whilst maintaining good breathing patters. A good start to the week! Perhaps I might start implementing a nap as soon as i get home from work because that made such a difference.
