"Long distance" race in Фeoфaнiя. It is the terrain probably next to where the WOC relay and the long distance will be held this summer. I had an ok race, lost about 3 times 1 minute. Once because I had to walk around a pretty wild dog.
This is probably the best in shape I have felt this week. Interesting that it is at the end of the training camp. It is upside down, neverless I am now going to take a few days of rest.

Already felt better than the day before. Had more capacity to run fast. But still not feeling sharp.

Warm up and cool down for the middle distance qualification race.

Middle distance qualification race for the Ukrainian champs. Map: Қвітництво. The Swiss team is only running the 3 quali races (middle, sprint and long), afterwards we have to go back home.
Oppla, physically I felt like I couldn't push to the limit. On the technical side I was running with a lot of flaws.

Unfortunately we spent almost 4 hours waiting on buses to get to the race and back. So the afternoon strength training got somewhat shortcuted.

Relief training in a middle distance relevant terrain: Chapaevka.
Interesting contrast between fast coastal relief forest and green parts.

Middle distant training in Koncha Zaspa. Again coastal type terrain... this terrain is just fun to orienteer, even when you are tired!

Wednesday May 30

Drove 3 hours to Қозинсқие Ґорби. A terrain situated about 1.5 hours outside of Kiev... unfortunately we got lost on our way there... so it took a little longer. In any case it was worth it. Superb coastal type terrain. Mega fast but nice relief details.
Warm up training before the Mass start training.

Mass Start race with all the Swiss and British team members. I felt not so great running, maybe because it was really hot.

"Cool down", I suppose the temperature was over 30°C.

Because of our bigger driving mistake in the morning we didn't have time to do a good 2nd training... did the essential core strength exercises.

Orienteering training in an unknown map east of Kiev. Coastal terrain type.

Long distance training in Vyshgorod. Pretty rough, steep terrain. Requires a lot of concentration and determination to run clean.

Monday May 28

Arrived in Kiev. We are spending 6 days here to prepare for the World Champs.
Right from the airport we went to the map Bykovnia to train.
