British Champs Long 2nd

Started off solidly banging everything spot but made a huge error to 4 being bang on line until i stupidly misread a fence for the wrong one and ran 90 degrees away from the control, must of dropped about 2 mins here #PunterMistake. Dane caught me on the way to 6 after me faffing to 5 and there i had a bit of a fight with him to get back on his tail and managed to get a head of him for a few controls but after that it was a real fight just to stay with him, body wasn't giving anything back so it was just pure spurges of determination to hang on to him. Took some water at the drinks point and didn't realise how much i needed it. Bumped into Joe,Mikey and Chicken at 19 who all hopped aboard, Dane stretched a gap here and the it was just a battle between me Joe and Andy through spectator to the end. Managed to give it some to the last control and push away from Joe and Andy to the finish.

Finished weasy, coughing, tired, relieved. Decent result, lucky to have Dane to push all the way with but i didn't have that usual sense of satisfaction because of course I would liked of done it all on my own. Know my body was letting me down here because just two weeks ago i caught Dane and managed to leave him at the loc long race, and I know at least when I'm feeling good i should of definitely been able to keep with him the whole way of this race. Could tell i wasn't my usual self because felt like pure death the entire race. Nice feeling to be back on the podium again.

Tester

Not happy. Lungs tight af again but sort of loosened off a little towards the end. Can only guess that its the change in climate thats brought it on, cold/dry air. Or there is more pollen in the air or something. Not in a great mindset especially as i am doubting my body before boc.

Got an asthma review soon so will be interesting to hear what they say.

Note

So yesterday we were out running on the fells and we bumped into about of 5 runners on top of Bow Fell, 4 men and 1 women, knew Ben Ambledoor but didn't recognise the others. Turns out it was Jasmin Paris who was on for her 15h BG record. Pretty funny we were so oblivious to what was going on. Incredible record.

Running 13:20 [2] 1.65 km (8:05 / km) +35m 7:19 / km

Warm up, a drills session of about 10 bum flicks and 2 strides.

Running 21:04 [4] 3.66 km (5:45 / km) +382m 3:47 / km

Dale Head Dash fell race

Nice leg and lung burner. Legs were pretty tired after a hard week but a great session to finish on. Took a bit of time for me to find a rhythm and a bit of jostling for positions with Jack over the first half of the climb but then relaxed a bit and gradually got going to get a bit of the gap on Jack by the top. Nice fun descent but wasn't pushing way too hard to start with because no one was that near ahead of me. Took a second to take in the unreal view coming off the descent and then looked around me to see Jack back on my trails, oops! foot on the gas then and some of the other lads ahead took a bit of a shitter line so managed to sneak past a Borrowdale guy before this finish. Fun little race. +1:06 on Carl Bell.

A lad who was 15 came second and was the first to the summit by a mile, absolutely flying up hill, thought he was banter starting at first but he just didn't stop, pretty mad!

Running 45:00 [2] 5.28 km (8:32 / km) +346m 6:25 / km

Another #adventure with Jack checking out some fresh fells and debating which mountain was which. Should of brought by phone, some cracking views.
