Day 2 of #PeterStormsRunningAcademy16

Easier day in the fells with a Lavely run up the Old man. Taps aff the whole way trying to break in a dirty tan. #prayforthemilkbottles Saw Timothy on his Uni field trip looking awkward with friends which weren't orienteers...he even said he went to the pub with them! Bit heavy legged to begin with but felt a lot better after 40 minutes of uphill.

Looking foward to a track session tomorrow.

Then got very confused. If you want to have a laugh at an attempt of running the Fairfield Horseshoe please take a look at the GPS trace....the mist was down. Excellent start to the #PaulsU23TrainingCamp #BTM

No coaches in P Gym so just did our own stuff in the circuit gym, still quite a decent session. Just no dirty squats. Taught Dane the ropes with a bit of plyo.

Scottish Champs Relay

Dan did a decent job to set me off in the main pack and a minute or so behind FVO. Set off about 10 secs behind Harrison, managed to claw back some time up the first climbs which i ran all the way. Hill legs definitely starting to come back! Put a solid shift in for most the course but had a few little slips at 6 (10-15s) and at 10 (10-15s) Caught up Marcus at 9 who was really shifting for his age and just couldn't seem to pass him on the last climb up to 12. Pushed on downhill though and got a 5-10s gap on him to put sasha out about 20s behind Ali T.

Sasha then did a great job and brought it home for the boys!

Scottish Champs

First time legs have felt good in a long time, joyous feeling to be able to run climbs reasonably well again. Solid to 1 but a slight miss on the approach at the end of the leg put me 20m to wide but managed to meercat and spot it. Too wide on 2, 20-30s miss. Then bannana to 3. Really need to practise some bearings. To 5 I was good apart from i fell over twice quite badly in the boulder field brrr.. Caught sight of Sasha when I was coming out of 6, no surprise there after a few wobbles. Hesistated quite a bit on 7, swear the contours were a bit off and didn't map the shape of hill to well. This caused me too loose some time and so punched just ahead of Sasha. Then hung on too Sasha from 8 to 13 until he dropped me when i started to die on the Hill a bit, not running fast enough to take on the orienteering just so just tried to stay on his trail. Then good till the end.

Main thing is I'm starting to feel like i'm coming back into some sort of form and if I can keep up with Sasha for most of the race its probably a good step in the right direction. Not the best of preparation with rest for this weekend but at least my legs were fresh even if my body wasn't 100%. Definitely time to brush up on the O a bit as well.
