Run 1:35:00 [2] 16.7 km (5:41 / km)

Run 1
Weather: Beautiful! Sunny and warm with a cool breeze.

Started at 7:30 to get an hour in before meeting the gang at 8:30.
Was going to run 2x5km loops before heading out on the Figure 8 with the group. Had my race gear on and ran the first 5km in 30 minutes focusing on going realy easy as if it was the start ofthe race. It felt unatural and awkward going that slow however it will be good to go out for the first bit at LH at that pace. As I was finishing my first loop I ran into a friend (Simon) who was training his group and we started chatting. He`s having relationship trouble right now so I lent an empathetic and sympathetic ear and we walked and talked for the next 30 minutes until it was time for me to join the gang.

Had a nice relaxed run with the group although we did go up and over Douglas Park hill (easily) which I figured would be ok since I didn`t go the other 5km.

The runs this week felt really good and I actually feel a lot more rested now this past week which is a terrific feeling. Actually feeling excited for next Saturday and seeing what I can do on that course.

Checked the LH website today and my race number is 23 which is happily my favourite number and my number of significance. If that is not a good omen then I don`t know what is! It`s like I`m being told it`s going to be a great experience!!
