Nate and I drove over to BFLO for the Sol-O event at Emery Park. Nate ended up with a MSP and several minutes behind me; however, it wasn't really a fair course - not just because I've done many map hikes there over the years - as there were some misplaced controls, and C2 was a pretty ridiculous location: "somewhere in the thicket". I didn't lose too much time going 270 degrees around before busting in and happening upon the very low flag, but Nate spent more time there. I'm fairly certain C4 was in the wrong location - everything lined up for a boulder that I found immediately, but no flag. I then wandered one way, then the other and found the flag next to a piece of stone. C7 was definitely in the wrong location as the X on the map was most certainly marking the pile of logs at the edge of the clearing or, less likely, some old stone grill or something behind it. The flag was at some other junk, much closer to the stream, and Nate never found it. I found it only after resigning to having Nate catch up to me and confirm that it should have been at the logs before moving on. C8 was lying on the ground in a fairly random location, but it was right on my path to the mapped knoll, so I lost no time, but Nate took a wider approach and didn't see it initially.

A nice visit with Walt and Patty afterwards, then a quick stop at Brigid's house, where the sun was shining uninterrupted.
