| Event: ROC - Annual Mendon Trail Run | ||
| Map Run 40:00 [2] 4.57 mi (8:44 / mi) | ||
| slept:6.25 weight:166lbs | ||
| Went to the ROC Trail Run, since I had volunteered to work registration, but it seems I wasn't really needed, except for a couple of random tasks. Once the race started, I ran on the Mendon map, visiting part of the Mendon West XC course before doing a few controls on the old map (southeast of the beach area), and then a couple of control picking legs on the way back.
Knee/calf was fine - should be ready to handle the longer event tomorrow.
Friday Nov 9 | ||
| Swimming 34:40 [2] 0.91 mi (38:05 / mi) | ||
| slept:7.0 | ||
| 4:14/8:46
1:35,39,38,40,39 3:40,39 Knee/calf sore enough that I couldn't run, and definitely couldn't hop on the bike, since that may have triggered the problem and I couldn't take another day off, so I made my first trip to the pool in ages. Didn't push anything, since my shoulder and back have been sore from VB the last couple of weeks, so I was VERY slow. But didn't seem to experience any ill effects.
Thursday Nov 8 | ||
| Volleyball 30:00 [2] | ||
| slept:6.5 | ||
| Foolishly played VB tonight, but my team needed me - we were 2 games behind the team we were playing, battling for the last playoff spot. My knee/calf felt OK before the game, but it didn't take long for it to get sore - limited my mobility and we lost a game I played as well as the one I sat out. So, still 2 games out with 2 weeks to go.
Knee not bad enough to mark as an injury, yet. So, I am optimistic that I can successfully Raid the Hammer.
Wednesday Nov 7 | ||
| Note | ||
| slept:6.25 (rest day) | ||
| Took the day off, hoping the back of my knee (top of my calf?) would have a chance to recover. | ||
Tuesday Nov 6 | ||
| Running 45:28 [2] 5.25 mi (8:39 / mi) | ||
| rhr:45 slept:6.25 | ||
| Easy run from Schroeder with Chelsea, trailing behind Nate and Megan. The turnout for the first NYC practice was 3. It turns out that no one heard Coach Klehr announce the practices.
Cut thru from Five Mile to Scribner and back via Armtale Luster, then thru the Friar Tuck hood and finished with a loop around Summit Knolls. Developed a pain in the back of my knee and/or top of my calf, which is now limiting my mobility a bit. I'm hoping ice, vitamin I and an overnight can clear it up.
Monday Nov 5 | ||
| Biking 23:00 [2] 9.08 mi (2:31 / mi) | ||

| Back to the downtown Y at lunchtime for the first time since August.
Did Random Hills-11 @ 93rpm
| Running 23:34 [2] 3.0 mi (7:51 / mi) | ||
| Hopped on the treadmill for a mini-brick. 7.5 most of the way, but worked up to 8 and back down during the second half. More to stave off boredom than anything else. | ||
Sunday Nov 4 | ||
| Event: ROC - Oatka Creek Park | ||
| Running 25:10 [3] 3.55 mi (7:04 / mi) | ||
| slept:6.25 | ||
| Ran the Fahrenholz loop alone before the Bills game, since we got into town late. Fastest Fahrenholz loop in quite some time: 20:37 (10:51 at the corner, 9:45 back home). Especially quick given yesterday's activity, but I want to start doing some of my easier runs at a better pace (well, not sub-7 in general), especially if I only have time for a short run. | ||
