Running 51:47 [2] 6.09 mi (8:30 / mi)
slept:6.25

Ran before practice from Thomas, out and back on the 104 bike path toward Bay, then ran more as the team gathered and during their w/up.

Running race 12:57 [5] 2.0 mi (6:28 / mi)

Two Mile Time Trial with the team.

Rough Splits:
1:38, 1:39, 1:38, 1:37, 1:38, 1:38, 1:34, 1:35

The team was out quick on the first lap from AJ at 66 and Nate at 70, to Karen and Ann ahead of me for most of it. Caught Arik on the second lap, then caught someone new most other laps, all the way up to Justin R. I think Will heard my footsteps and took off and then Justin sprinted by at the line.

I did not catch Zach, who beat all of the freshmen. I think the lack of hills on a track works to his advantage.

Hard to run all out when facing a long run afterward.

Running long 1:26:19 [2] 9.86 mi (8:45 / mi)
weight:153lbs

After the time trial, I did a w/dn with Z, out to Independence - 5 Mile - path - rink for 16:18. Then I set out for at least another 45, no make it 50 minutes. Got going and said I'd turn around after 30, then decided to try for 70 minutes and perhaps wind up with an 18 mile day.

Ran back out to Independence - CK - LB - past the old homestead on Joylene - Klem - Hojack - Vosburg Hollow - Big Field - Big Woods - Pellet - Herman - Van A - Klem - 5 Mile and a short loop at Thomas to make it 70 minutes.

Ankle, knee and butt were all sore before I started running today - all on the left side. Butt stayed a little sore the whole time. Knee went away after part of the w/up. The ankle also loosened up, but started to bother me late in the run (after the trails perhaps?).

weight was post-run plus drinking a pound of water - had to document the record low since November 1984.

Running 30:27 [2] 3.81 mi (8:00 / mi)

Easy run with Coach Klehr during practice. I stopped my watch while we picked our way through the deer trails near Meg's house.

Kept the run short so we could send the kiddies home early, given the weather and tomorrow's time trial.

Running 49:47 intensity: (13:00 @1) + (23:00 @2) + (13:47 @5) 6.3 mi (7:54 / mi)
slept:5.0

Workout with the team at Webster Park.

11 min w/up with the coaches
12 min w/dn with Zach

2 x 800m (3:22, 3:21) on the early part of the course
3 x 400m (88, 88, 88) on the loop around the tennis courts
4 x 200m - I alternated with Coach Klehr in the continuous 3 x 200m relay with the big boys. I got spanked, even though I ran quite hard (sub-40, I'm sure).

Hashing 40:00 [2] 3.0 mi (13:20 / mi)

RH3 from the movie theater in Webster. Spent quite a bit of time in the woods behind Empire Park, but since it was dark very early, had trouble tracking down the trail, and we wound up popping out on Bishop's when the trail was supposed to take us towards Creek St.

Running 38:54 [2] 4.71 mi (8:15 / mi)
slept:8.0

Ran with the other coaches during practice at Webster Park. We may not have been this slow, but then again perhaps we were slower.

Running 47:00 intensity: (39:00 @2) + (8:00 @5) 6.0 mi (7:50 / mi)

Running around before, during and after the XC meet at Center Park.

The boys ran pretty well. Since Brighton and Mendon had the division title on the line, they ran quite well, and we didn't have a chance against Brighton. With nate being sick, Mendon's 2-4 were able to sneak by him, but our 4 and 5 guys were edged out by Mendon's 6th. But we were up against teams ranked 6th and 8th in the State for Class A schools, and we were right in the mix! The County Meet should be exciting! We also went 1-2-3 against Fairport, to beat them for the first time since at least 2002 (the web records only go back to 2003), and I suspect it has been a fair amount longer than that.

The girls also did quite well, despite missing 4 of our top 7 girls, and picked up a 9th win for the year - up from just 3 last year.

I ran about 16 minutes before the races and 11 minutes after. A conservative estimate is 10 minutes during each race, with 4 of those minutes at 5K race pace to get between spots.

Running 44:44 [2] 5.42 mi (8:15 / mi)
slept:5.5

Easy run around Webster Park during practice. Included some terrain running and some less-beaten paths.

Running 30:19 intensity: (17:19 @2) + (13:00 @3) 3.83 mi (7:55 / mi)
slept:7.0

Ran from Hyde Park in Niagara Falls after dropping Zach for his game. Here is the route. Ran with nate for almost 2 miles, before he got bored of my pace (although it was sub-7:30). He went a little farther and turned around, while I ran down business 62 to 19th St, and returned.

Zach's team played undisciplined and uninspired in a 4-0 loss - I think it was scoreless after one before their sloppiness really set in.
