Running 34:35 [2] 4.0 mi (8:39 / mi)
slept:7.0

Running from home - seemed very strange, since it has been awhile. Did the old Plank-5 Mile-Beacon Hills loop.

Legs were pretty sore from yesterday (quads especially). It was reminiscent of the time, many years ago, when I went to Letchworth with a bunch of folks and I was in very good running shape, but my legs still got beat up by just walking around.

Running 1:17:00 [2] 9.33 mi (8:15 / mi)
slept:6.5

Running before, during and after the Sectional meet at Genesee Community College. The team certainly finished the season on a high note. Nico grabbed second place and nate ran well to finish 12th. We didn't manage to beat Hilton for 2nd, but 3rd place is a solid result. On the girls' side, they were in over their heads with the strength of the AA teams, but gave a nice effort. Val had an outstanding race to finish 10th.

I parked in the city of Batavia, in order to force some extra running, since there was no way I was getting a long run done today. Zach came with me and we ran out to GCC. I ran around a bit during Tim's races - his boys team was almost all freshman, but still finished in the top half. I ran around hard during our races - especially the boys race, so I could catch them 7 times. I did a bit during a couple of other races.

Ran back to my car after the awards ceremony, and then it was off to East Aurora to spend the night before Raiding the Hammer tomorrow,

slept:6.0 (rest day)

Since I haven't had a day off since Oct 12th, I decided I could take a day off. I'll just call it resting up for Sectionals tomorrow...

Running 1:02:04 intensity: (57:40 @2) + (4:24 @4) 7.8 mi (7:57 / mi)
slept:7.0

Ran about 19 minutes with Coach Klehr while the kiddies were running around the Schroeder area. Some nasty hail that stopped just before we turned back into the wind.

Had to run back and forth between the school to find the kids that couldn't follow directions. I did 6 strides on the football field with most of the squad, then 6 more with 3 stragglers.

Since I was too lazy yesterday, I forced myself to run home - took side streets since it was getting dark and I wanted to make sure I was over an hour today. So, I went just over 4.4 miles at 8:01 pace. I thought it was slower, but I guess running on roads instead of trails is much easier.

Running 32:00 [2] 4.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
slept:7.25

The kids are heavily into taper mode, so they were running much faster than I can and much shorter than I should today. I also had to keep them honest with the stopwatch, but today it was to make sure they didn't run too fast, instead of making sure they didn't run too slowly (except for most of the girls who don't seem to know the difference between mile race pace and 5K race pace). I had them do 2 x 400 and 6 x 200. I did let them run faster on the last 200, at their personal discretion.

I did some running while they warmed up and ran around a bit during the workout (and did 4 strides on the practice football field) and a little bit afterward.

Too many excuses for not tacking something on after practice, so I'll have to add something tomorrow.

Running 30:56 [3] 4.12 mi (7:30 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:158lbs

Easy run around the streets near Schroeder, following the guys during practice. Well, it was easy for them. I struggled a bit early on because I can't just get up and run like they can, while they chatted away. After initial concerns about some twinges in my right (!) hamstring, I was able to follow along more comfortably.

I did do 2 strides before I decided not to push my luck.
