Hiking 1:03:46 [1] 3.13 mi (20:22 / mi) +11m 20:09 / mi

Walked from a park near UCSB along the coast and back. Went as far as I could before I had to bring Chelsea to her lab meeting so that we could get out of town right at 5. Ended being about a 2:50 drive back to Pasadena (vs. under 1:40 going up this AM). And would have been worse if we couldn't use the car pool lane on the 134.

Hiking 29:13 [1] 1.3 mi (22:23 / mi) +15m 21:37 / mi

Parked at Goleta Beach and walked up along the bluffs and back during Chelsea's meeting.

Hiking 2:46:21 [2] 7.2 mi (23:06 / mi) +763m 17:23 / mi

Halfway up the Mt Wilson trail and back down - turned around at Orchard Camp. If it was any colder or had done more than sprinkle, I would not have made it so far.

The Garmin was right on for the first 1.6 going up, bu then it thought the next two miles were also 1.6, it measured 3.2 going up and 3.4 coming down (the exact same narrow path). I think it had trouble once i was in the woods and the hills blocked more of the sky - although it never disconnected...

Note

The time I could have spent walking today, I spent at the Norton Simon museum in Pasadena. Spent over two hours there, and mostly just saw the two European sections: 14-16th and 17th-18th centuries.

Hiking 1:53:11 [1] 5.55 mi (20:24 / mi) +78m 19:32 / mi

Had lunch outside at Longboard's on the Wharf in Santa Barbara - beautiful day. It would have been great to go for a run along the ocean, but I had to settle for a long walk above the ocean.

The longer pause was a refreshment stop on the way back to the car.

Orienteering 1:11:17 [1] 2.46 mi (29:02 / mi) +105m 25:38 / mi

Knocked off many of the eastern controls from the Hunters Creek map hike, walking the whole way. I missed a couple of controls because I knew it was going to take too long, and I skipped two, and didn't do the two northern-most.
