Note
(rest day)

A full day at the track for the State Championship Meet, and what a meet it was! Val showed a great combination of fitness, desire and savvy to win by a surprising amount. And Katie (3000) and Eileen (1500) made for a Webster-Penfield sweep of the state titles in the distance events.

Note
(rest day)

What a shame! It rained all day long, washing out the scheduled NY State Track Championship events for the day (and my golf game scheduled for the morning). Sadly, I did not bring any Harriman maps with me, because I thought I had zero spare time, so did not head over there during my resulting spare time, even though it was not much over 30 minutes away.

No practice today, since it's down to just Val and she could run at Webster Park right after school. (Yesterday's workout was good, something like 2:56 for 800T, then 71-2,33.8 for 400R, 200F, separated by just 30 seconds; 73?, 34.5 for the same, then 4x200 avg 33.

Was surprisingly quick, but also had to keep it on the short side.

Note
(rest day)

I had scheduled the third segment of the Regaine from 3-7am, thinking I could have a brief period in the dark and grab just a few controls, but when I woke up just before 3, I had trouble walking due to blisters, so I went back to sleep, with the hopes of doing the fourth segment. When I got up a bit before 6, it was clear that I was not up for walking any distance, so I packed up and headed home. I should have been more careful with my feet...
