Walking 3:00 [3] 0.05 mi (1:00:21 / mi)

With the walker up and down the hospital hallway a bit.bit. I could have gone quite a bit father but the PT recommended not risking overdoing it. The walk was good news because while I was laying in bed I wasn't really able to get leverage to bend my left knee, so I thought it would be really hard, but I was able to do some of the walking with very little pressure on the walker. I am allowed to be full weight-bearing already, if I can take it.

Note
(rest day)

I was told the surgery went quite well, but the only activity allowed today was sitting up on the edge of the bed.

Orienteering 1:29:34 [1] 2.49 mi (36:02 / mi) +112m 31:36 / mi

One last Map Hike outing before surgery (35.5 hours from the end of the outing). Went to Sprague Brook and knocked off 8 controls on the west side. Lost over 5 minutes looking for the control at the "vegetation boundary" as the center of the circle had one boundary circled but the control was at the other. Also had trouble with C10 (I think) - it was not located close enough to the creek bend for this cripple to have reasonable access to it.

Biking 7:30 intensity: (3:30 @2) + (4:00 @5) 2.36 mi (3:11 / mi)

Didn't trust myself to ride outside three days before surgery because any scrapes or cuts on my hip from another fall could cause a cancellation, so one last Expresso workout for a while.

P=198, C=72
Started this one as a warm-up, but when I got a mile in, the leaderboard taunted me, so I picked it up and took over the lead. I was pleased until I went online and saw the leader is a woman in her 50s... really?

Biking 15:19 [5] 5.0 mi (3:04 / mi)
ahr:152 max:170

P=212,C=74

Hadn't been on this course in a long time, so I chose it to really go after for a final workout. Kept it at 20+ mph except on the uphill during most of the fourth mile.

Biking 19:55 [3] 4.53 mi (4:24 / mi)
ahr:140

P=171, C=64

Kept this ride more leisurely as I was pretty spent, but still bested r. fouser again.

Biking warm up/down 5:00 [2] 1.25 mi (4:00 / mi)

Extra riding between the courses - was something longer than this.

No car today, so I had to walk out for some lunch. It seems much closer when driving...

Orienteering 1:35:59 [1] 2.77 mi (34:36 / mi) +144m 29:48 / mi

Map Hike with Walt at Hunter's Creek. My last visit there for quite some time, I imagine, with surgery now just 3.5 days away.

Knocked off 6 controls on the east side of the creek, southern part of the map. It was getting too dark to try to descend for C15(?) and climb back up for C11.

Note
(rest day)

Just not up for riding outside and couldn't bring myself to ride inside on such a beautiful day. Got to watch a Luke travel doubleheader - they managed to lose to Greece, but mercied Fairport.
