Gene's funeral in the AM, so stayed at work a little later.

5:02 (300)

1:30,32,34,32,31
3:30,25

Started in the open swim lane as the other lanes were occupied, then moved to a regular lane. Fastest 500 in a long time - I like seeing the clock at Eastside after turning at the deep end, so I kept clicking off 49s and 50s. Also kept some good speed up on the 100s.

Note
(rest day)

Had to interview someone at lunchtime, so didn't get out for a run, then at 6pm it was straight from work to downtown Buffalo with Brigid for dinner, then the Cold War Kids concert at Babeville, thanks to our partnership with New Era.

Map Hike at Sardinia

Knocked off 7 controls but it was tough going as there is just enough junk in the woods to prevent me and my hip from getting on a roll. The good news is that my only fall came in the bright orange area that is NOT bright orange, but there were many other problems with the map that were worse.
For example, unmapped trails and some trails that are really linear marshes after the recent rain (so I am OK with the mapping of those, I guess, assuming things do dry out).

1:29, 33, 33, 33, 33
3:32, 27
50, 51, 50, 54

Got kicked out of my lane after the 500, without a chance to look at the clock. A bunch of people claimed they "had the lanes" but nothing was on the Ys schedule other than the usual Lap (4) / Open (2). Luckily a guy left the other lanes and I was able to continue. The annoyance factor led to a 1:29, fastest 100 in a while. They swam a few laps, then messed around in the deep end and were gone in under 15 minutes.

Running 45:36 intensity: (3:00 @1) + (42:36 @3) 3.51 mi (12:59 / mi)

Went to Durand Eastman with zach and luke. Ran some trails and some roads, some alone, some with Luke and the last 1/4 with Zach. Took some 30 sec walking breaks.
