Recovery day. Luke's team lost their district final, so not advancing this year. Didn't help that the starting shortstop broke his leg playing basketball before the last few games.

BFLO Trail Race at Chestnut Ridge.

Survived this one reasonably well. Was only ahead of 5 people early on, but passed 7 before the water stop at 2.7 and 5 at the water stop - was going to stop but my nephew manning the station only had 4 water glassed filled when the pack ahead of me arrived, so I just kept going - and then passed 2 more on the way in.

Was tougher than I expected and my HR remained fairly high despite walking 30s every 1/2 mile. The heat certainly had some impact. Hip and lower back were sore afterwards.

Took the day off with the trail race at Chestnut Ridge tomorrow. Luke's team gave up 4 runs in the first, but then settled down and won, 13-8 to stay alive.

After Luke's tough loss in the District LL playoffs (it's double-elimination so they play again tomorrow to try to get into the finals), I had just enough time to squeeze in a swim at Eastside before they closed. Shoulder still a bit sore, but I was again able to move fairly well.

Some slow moving around the Sprague Brook Map Hike. Got 7 controls - 6 on the way out and just 1 on the way back, as I wasn't really interested in crossing the brook.

Got in some golf with Howie and Frank at Locust Hill. Had many shots that were quite good, as well as many that were absolutely terrible. Shot 50+52=102, with 3 snowmen on the front.

Shoulder was better than in recent weeks, and as a result I was swimming faster than I have in quite some time. Late in the workout it was down from a max of 4 people in the pool (2 swimmers + 2 floaters/walkers/whatever) to just me, with 4 lifeguards to keep me safe.
