Was going to go easy today, but about 3 miles in I realized I was on pace to be just over 30 seconds behind the local leader, so I picked it up and ended up 24 seconds ahead of him.

On the treadmill at the Y - did 4.5 min walk / 1.5 min jog/run x 6
The jog/runs were progressive: 7.0mph, 7.2, 7.4, 7.6, 7.8, 8.0
The walking was mostly rising from 3.5 to 4.2mph (a little faster on the last one as my recoveries had been too easy up to that point)

Interestingly, the first jog was the hardest - probably needed more warm-up.

Went straight to the pool to double in anticipation of wanting to take Friday off. Able to do this because tonight's ROC Board meeting was canceled because of the weather.

Arms were quite heavy early, then lower legs and feet started cramping late.

The 2 usual bikes were both in use (someone just beat me to my usual bike), so I had to use the bike in the entryway that is advertising this month's fundraiser. This was the course of the week, so I went with it. I had done this route twice before, in 2013 and 2016, so I set the ghost to the 2016 version, but I put him in my rear-view very quickly (ended up 2:59 ahead). Then I noticed that one of the other bikes was on the same course and a little behind me. He gained on me for a bit on the downhill first half, but he faded on the second half. I see that he wound up 1:15 slower overall.

Spent the AM in EA before taking Chelsea, Lucy and Joey to the airport, then after the Sabres game I took Luke over to watch his hockey team lose their playoff game, 6-3. He would have made a huge difference in the outcome if he was cleared to play.
