Dirt Cheap Trail Race #4 at Webster Park Maybe it was the heat, or the orienteering race yesterday, but my perceived effort should have resulted in a faster time. I see my heart rate was also running high, but I was much closer to Doug Hall yesterday than today.

ROC Score-O at Highland Park. The time limit was only 45 minutes, so I wasn't sure I could get all 32 controls. Made a tactical error early and added extra distance due to the choice, but kept clicking off controls, taking the counter-clockwise route around the north side, saving the southern bail options for the end. Struggled with a couple of the westernmost controls, but crossed Highland with almost 8 minutes left on the clock. The southern section was more straightforward and I threw in a few surges to get all of the controls (the slowest of the three people that did that).
Worked a pretty full day out west before making the journey home, arriving after 2am. Fortunately, Luke was wide awake and agreed to drive us home from the BUF airport.

BAOC event at the Presidio - Advanced. Fun course, even if it was only Orange. Didn't actually punch at C5 as there were some angry bees there - a woman who arrived there after Zach was stung repeatedly, while he had escaped unharmed. I lost time at the control inching close enough to call it "good" then getting out of there. I was quite slow late in the course as I ran out of gas. I had caught the woman who was stung and we were close at C7 and C8, but I needed a walking break on the way to C9 and she was gone.
