Orienteering 1:21:05 intensity: (19:00 @1) + (21:22 @2) + (24:01 @3) + (16:13 @4) + (29 @5) 4.45 mi (18:13 / mi) +199m 16:00 / mi

ROC Sol-O event at Durand Eastman - Long Advanced Course.
Although yesterday's run was fairly easy, it was on the longer side and did not do much to allow my legs to recover from the weekend, so they were heavy from the start, which did not bode well for the Durand hills. But I wasn't going to have another chance to run the course, so off I went.

Sluggish from the start, but navigated fairly cleanly (although I did not see any tape in the clear C1 location) until getting confused on the way to C9. Finally recovered and got on a roll again. However, going to C19, the wheels came off, and I stopped paying attention to the compass and let the contours lead me way too far right. AP splits say I lost 3 minutes, but it was probably at least 5.

Running 1:07:07 intensity: (37 @1) + (4:30 @2) + (12:38 @3) + (37:01 @4) + (12:21 @5) 5.6 mi (11:59 / mi) +118m 11:15 / mi
ahr:143 max:164 weight:171lbs

Drove down to Mendon Ponds for a jog (4) / walk (1) effort as my quads were much to heavy from the last two days to think about the Sol-O course at Durand, so not sure when I'll fit that in. Extended past 4 minutes the two times that I saw people so that I didn't stop right before passing them. Extended the walk to 2.5 minutes to walk up Cardiac Hill. Saw more deer (9) than people (5), even though it was a very pleasant holiday afternoon.

Biking 1:42:45 intensity: (34:27 @1) + (52:24 @2) + (7:24 @3) + (3:03 @4) + (5:27 @5) 25.72 mi (4:00 / mi) +2m 4:00 / mi
ahr:123 max:183 weight:171lbs

Knocked off another 12.8 miles of the canal path (70.3 miles total now). Parked in Spencerport and rode west to Main St in Holly, near the schools, and back. Back was a few minutes slower - a combination of legs getting heavy and facing some significant wind in spots, especially where the canal was wide and open west of Brockport.

Orienteering 1:07:20 intensity: (2 @0) + (43:41 @1) + (6:32 @2) + (6:57 @3) + (9:36 @4) + (32 @5) 2.81 mi (23:58 / mi) +81m 22:00 / mi

Planned on doing the BFLO course at Sprague Brook Park, then meeting Walt and Patty at Sardinia to vet some of next year's Map Hike, but they finished their running of the Oak Tree half marathon earlier than expected, so I headed to Sardinia first. I happened to see their car in Perry and followed them to Castile before Walt noticed it was me.

Last time at Sardinia, I went south, so I volunteered to do the northern loop, which went pretty cleanly, so I was done in 54 minutes and added on two southern controls. I lost 3 minutes on the very first control because the clue said intermittent stream end, so when I saw the stream, I just went uphill without consulting the map - turns out it was actually an usual downhill stream end. Also lost a little time on the 4th control as I did not realize I had to go uphill so much to the flag, so I went a bit past before climbing.

Orienteering 50:49 intensity: (7:40 @1) + (14:18 @2) + (19:03 @3) + (9:14 @4) + (34 @5) 3.02 mi (16:50 / mi) +120m 14:59 / mi
ahr:130 max:155

BFLO Sol-O meet at Sprague Brook Park. Drove over from Sardinia and ran the course. My printer wasn't printing magenta, so the colors were a bit off and the course didn't print, so I had to draw the control circles, old school.

Fairly clean run, even if just a little slow after some climbing at Sardinia first. Only mistake of much consequence was losing > 1 minute going to C5 when I unexpectedly crossed a trail and got confused, veering off less 30m from the control, as it turned out.

Nice ride into the city. Saw a gathering at MLK park, so took a lap around the outside to see the terrorists tailgating. Hit 37mph coming down Empire Blvd from Winton (then hit 7.2 mph coming up the other side).

RH3 in the city. The terrorists scratched up my car a bit while I was parked on Exchange St, south of 490, after we were told to remove our cars from the Exchange Pub lot, even though we were stopping in there after the run. Got out of Dodge before the real action started.

Golfing 15:00 [1]
weight:170lbs

Not a good round. Driver was fine, except for on #14, but I had 2 3-putt bogeys and missed two other easy putts, so shot 44 and we lost 22-18. But next week is position week and we should still be on top, so that's the week that matters. Unfortunately, my partner will be out, so I need to choose a sub wisely!
