Running 16:13 intensity: (25 @0) + (7:13 @1) + (1:54 @2) + (4:27 @3) + (2:00 @4) + (14 @5) 1.14 mi (14:13 / mi)
ahr:121 max:154 weight:170lbs

XC Meet at Basil Marella. Had to check out the woods route before the first race, and good thing I did as the creek was higher than I've ever seen it and there would be no hopping across on stones today, so the bridge was the only option.

Coaching 20:10 intensity: (3:01 @1) + (2:56 @2) + (8:03 @3) + (5:48 @4) + (22 @5) 1.47 mi (13:43 / mi)
ahr:133 max:168

Boys Varsity race vs. Gates-Chili. They are quite weak this year, so we put all 12 of our runners ahead of their first.

Coaching 31:51 intensity: (17:42 @1) + (2:44 @2) + (3:37 @3) + (7:18 @4) + (30 @5) 1.51 mi (21:06 / mi)
ahr:118 max:162

Girls race (no separate JV as neither team had 12 total runners). Sierra made a strong statement after last week's struggle to win by a fair amount, with her 19:12 behind only Val's 18:45 in Schroeder history. Our girls also took 4-8 and 10-11.

Coaching 28:03 intensity: (9:35 @1) + (1:25 @2) + (4:55 @3) + (10:45 @4) + (1:23 @5) 1.59 mi (17:38 / mi)
ahr:126 max:174

Boys Varsity B race which was mostly an intrasquad race.

Took advantage of the sun and 70+ degrees to get in perhaps the last outdoor ride of the year, given my reluctance to ride under 50 degrees as of now. And I made it count: despite an easy first mile, I went thru 5 miles in just over 16 minutes, a record on this bike. I also covered road, hojack and the bike path (slowing my overall pace).

Just ran from home tonight for several reasons. Did the classic four mile loop in 4:30 jog / 30 sec walk increments and still kept it under 10 min pace. Legs still heavy from Tuesday.

Changed avg hr to fitbit level as Garmin still seems off these days.

Coaching 50:00 intensity: (29:49 @1) + (7:28 @2) + (9:43 @3) + (2:48 @4) + (12 @5) 2.5 mi (20:00 / mi) +31m 19:16 / mi
ahr:91 max:157 weight:170lbs

Jogged over to the campground area and back and moved around a bit over there during practice. The kids had 3x1 mile today plus the 4x3x2 relay. With Gates on Saturday, it made sense to have today be the season's toughest workout.

Running warm up/down 5:47 intensity: (13 @1) + (5 @2) + (2 @3) + (41 @4) + (4:46 @5) 0.53 mi (10:55 / mi)
ahr:154 max:165

Running race 31:33 intensity: (4 @2) + (8 @3) + (7 @4) + (31:14 @5) 3.5 mi (9:01 / mi)
ahr:168 max:178 weight:172lbs

This was my virtual Corporate Challenge race - had until noon Thursday to get a 3.5 mile run tracked. I ran almost a minute faster than in 2016 when I competed for the Bills team, even though I lost 20 seconds just after the mile mark when I had to stop and tie my shoe (and choked). As of now, I have the 10th fastest Paychex time, out of 47 entries.

If not for the shoelace, I would have had nice descending splits:
9:16, 9:09, 8:44, with only a slight decay in the 4:23 last half mile.

Running warm up/down 4:21 intensity: (14 @4) + (4:07 @5) 0.36 mi (12:05 / mi)
ahr:170 max:180

Went to practice today, but didn't do much running as I will be doing the virtual Corporate Challenge tomorrow.

FCH3 - a third trail this year set by USO from the lowest lot below Woodcliff. Plenty of thorns on trail. I opted to go around the tunnel as I would have had to crawl on my hands and knees, while everyone else was short and/or flexible enough to stay on their feet.
