Saturday Feb 20 #

10 AM

Running 41:15 intensity: (3:30 @1) + (37:45 @3) 4.1 mi (10:04 / mi) +21m 9:54 / mi
ahr:141 max:162 weight:176lbs

25 degrees and some light snow with the sun popping out near the end made for reasonable running conditions. Did the 2 song / 45 sec thing (only 30 sec on the last one as I was close to home). Almost managed to keep it at 10min pace overall, though I didn't focus on pace at all. Ran on the shoulder on Scribner, Plank and Five Mile as the shoulders were clear and the sidewalks were not in good shape.

Garmin HR was off, especially at the beginning, but also had the Ftibit so recorded HR stats from that (but turned it off a couple of minutes late, so avg may have been a few beats higher). Fitbit thought I went 4.26 mi.

5 PM

Skiing (Nordic) 49:06 intensity: (59 @0) + (37:22 @1) + (10:04 @2) + (39 @3) + (2 @4) 2.99 mi (16:25 / mi) +23m 16:03 / mi
ahr:103 max:142 weight:176lbs

Went to Mendon Park south meadow after work again. Becoming slightly more comfortable on the skis and even survived the terrifying final 5m drop at the end. A lot faster than last time I was here, but I was still basically all arms, even when "skating" instead of double-poling.

Thursday Feb 18 #

6 PM

Biking 1:00:00 intensity: (29:48 @2) + (22:07 @3) + (8:05 @4) 14.04 mi (4:16 / mi)
ahr:119 max:163 weight:174lbs

P=130, C not connected apparently
Lance Watson Champion Interval
Abandoned my plan to run today due to cold and impending darkness. Instead, did my first Zwift group workout and it was an appropriate effort after yesterday's workout. Lots of changes of pace. It was a bad day for my cadence measurement not to be connected because the higher power intervals were at very low cadence (near 60) and the threshold intervals were at very high cadence (110), which was hard to control without the feedback.

Wednesday Feb 17 #

8 PM

Biking 58:00 intensity: (29:44 @2) + (18:46 @3) + (7:57 @4) + (1:33 @5) 13.6 mi (4:16 / mi) +246m 4:02 / mi
ahr:133 max:184 weight:175lbs

P=136, C=85
FTP Booster Week 4 Day 3 (skipped Day 2 endurance)
This included a 10 min trial effort at the end (after a couple of 5 min efforts at 170W). I was able to average 204W with my HR only climbing into the low 140s, so my legs still need to toughen up some more.

Tuesday Feb 16 #

Note
(rest day)

Back is a little sore so I'm taking a day off.

Monday Feb 15 #

6 PM

Hashing 1:43:09 [2] 4.31 mi (23:56 / mi) +17m 23:39 / mi
weight:169lbs

Set the CBH3 trail from the village of Webster. I was a mess trying to set with the broken finger and two bags with different kinds of flour, etc. Didn't help that the snow had started to fall, so was more challenging to get marks right. DT, NR and RH abandoned trail early but the others seemed to enjoy the challenge of the trail and appreciated some of my footprint games.

Sunday Feb 14 #

11 AM

Skiing (Nordic) 30:00 [2] 2.5 mi (12:00 / mi)
weight:173lbs

Did a couple of laps at Shadow Pines and it went much better than last time, although I am still quite spastic out there. Was planning on doing a third lap, but I was worried that my splint was becoming compromised between some sweat and not fitting into the glove, so the risk-reward ratio was too high.
1 PM

Hashing 1:54:00 intensity: (3:11 @0) + (58:35 @1) + (21:56 @2) + (20:39 @3) + (9:25 @4) + (14 @5) 5.19 mi (21:58 / mi) +337m 18:17 / mi
ahr:112 max:166

FCH3 from behind the Dollar Tree so it was a hilly trail thru the Y and Abe Lincoln park. Had a 25-minute detour on a J-Hook where I had to run a valentine all the way back to the DFL who was over 1/2 mile behind. Nice trail by Bloody and Kitten as they kept me guessing despite knowing the park fairly well.
