Went up to the north country for the mini-Rogaine with Walt, Patty and Christine (yes, you read that right). Walt was just going to go out for an hour then make his way back, so Christine decided to join us, but Walt decided to press on at each control, so she carried on as well. We came back to the start/finish after about 4.5 hours, so I went and got #71 which was nearby, then went after #58, but I made a parallel error that doomed me and I relocated incorrectly and had to pack it in. Our navigation together was quite good except #62 where I misread that the map said it was near a hilltop, but it was just a local max, so I went too far left and too far overall.

Day off as we traveled to the North Country just after work for tomorrow's orienteering.

FCH3 from north of Maplewood Park. Long trail set by FRB and I fell behind at the tough check leaving Riverside Cemetery, then it was tough going down near the Genesee with the mud and shale. Large Heidelberg ship was moored on the river shortly before we finally had a stop.

RBC ride from Webster Park. Easy ride with nobody going very quick, so I just relaxed and enjoyed it. Mudman was there on a mountain bike and was able to keep up.

Parked at the Big Field and ran over to the Hojack on Vosburg and turned around at Klem and back via Drumm. Tried to up it to 2 min jog / 1 min walk but felt my left calf on the 5th one, so went back to 1/1. Calf held up OK so I picked up the pace a bit, but stayed with 1 min stretches.

Tried out a Rochester Bicycling Club ride today. They had advertised 47 & 35 mile options, and 47 was too long, but they didn't post a map for 35. Luckily, they mentioned a couple of short cuts. Things broke up early so I caught a group of 5 others and was near them just beyond 25 miles when they decided to make up for the shortcuts by biking into Geneseo for some food. Weigh about 5 to go a couple guys caught me - they had done the 35 (one of them got a flat) and told me the map was available in some app that is free to members - I couldn't keep up but they didn't get too far ahead.

Longest ride in decades but I held up fairly well so it was a good outing.

Decided to hit the Greenway trail so I drove down to 252 across the river from RIT and rode south for 10 miles and back. On the return trip, I continued north of 252 and took the path next to the tracks over to Scottsville Rd. The trail crosses the tracks (there is even an official stop sign for the trail there), but I was wearing out and didn't investigate.

Did 5x1 min hard segments in each direction. Easier on the way back as 4 of them were on the nicer trail south of Scottsville.
