Friday Jun 14 #

(rest day)

Rest day. Darcy and I head to the inner harbor to see the "FLEET WEEK" and the Baltimore Car Show.
Fleet week consisted of only two ship in the inner harber, on small navy ship and and even smaller Naval Academy Training Ship. Supposedly there are other locations with more ships. We got there shortly after it opened and wait in line to tour the ships, and waited, and waited..... we waited more than 90 minutes to get in as they were only letting groups of 20 go in at a time. We were in the next group when the tours were delayed for 30 minutes while they loaded food supplies onto the ship. Had we been there a little earlier we would have waited less.
The good news is that we finally got on the ship and had an excellent view when they started doing the Navy airplane fly overs. First it was just a cargo plane, then a series of old airplanes in formation. The highlight was the newest Navy Fighter. It was very load and made several passes to show its different capabilities. At one point it just hovered over the harbor.

After that it was the car show. I am looking to get an electric car and we wanted to see what was available. Several were too small for me to fit comfortably but several seemed suitable. Car prices have gone up a lot.
