Orienteering (night o) 1:33:01 [3] 7.24 km (12:51 / km) +240m 11:01 / km

I was all syched for a night O. Traditionally, I suck at them. I am a very visual person so don't do well at Night O. I brought a ton of lights. I had my main night light on my head. My map light on my wrist which is less powerful head lamp. the huge chest light which looks good but really is useless. I also had another head lamp. After experimenting I decided to wear it as a waist light. The waist light actually worked well.
Well I was doing ok. Not running that fast but doing ok. Then mechanical failures started. First my gaters started falling down. I had to stop and retape them back up. Then my shoes came untired and I had to retie them. The next thing was the straps on my head lamp got sweaty and stretched out. The light wouldn't stay on my head. I had stop and figure out how to deal with it. I ended up taking my waist light and using it as my head lamp and carrying the head lamp in my right hand. The new head lamp was LED which I have a harder time seeing 3-D in than the yellow bulb light. Since I was carrying my other light it was also tough to use my map light. In addition to some orienteering mistakes I was falling apart. The real kicker was when I triped over a ruined fence and fell real hard. That kept me from even trying to run fast.
