I tried to keep moving but had to walk a lot to climb over the deadfall.

Only issues I had was the creek/pond crossing. I thought it was uncrossable so ran the long way around. I lost a minute on this leg.

I got my control description. I was curious what a ruin would look like on a college campus.
I started off running hard. I got the first control and there was no ruin. I saw a control behind a tree and went to it. It wasn't mine. Wait it was my 2nd control. How could that be. I went to the first control. After standing there dumbfounded for awhile, I saw the first control way back by the start. It was almost in a direct line, and the #1 was hidden in a building. Very bad course setting to do this. Several others almost skipped it but none went all the way to the next control before realizing it. I lost over 2 minutes.
I also lost time #4 (a non existent ruin which was stone wall). I went right to the control but didn't see it, then some people started talking to me distracting me.

Grass cover was too high to run so spent most of the time walking. This was good on my calf.

Easy run. Still taking it easy on my calf. Fortunately my calf didn't hurt during the run. Felt out of shape again.
Rt 175 + 1 Park loop (on grass) + partial loop on grass.
