Since I couldn't go yesterday with my hurt back, I went vetting today. I had to check out a whole bunch of new control locations since the courses had to be redone to use a different start/finish. I was most concerned with the Yellow and Brown courses so wanted to check those out first. I had two Yellow courses and needed to see if they were suitable. I figured I would jog the yellow courses first. Then check the start/finish area. Then jog at least one of the brown courses.
Well things didn't go according to plan. I should have checked but it has been a year since I was on this part of the map and I forgot that the map was never finished (I was focused more on the other parts). So I spent a long time mapping features (including one new trail). I did check out my yellow courses and rejected one. While in some areas I also rejected some other control locations (too steep).
The end result is it took me 7.5 miles and 5.5 hours to do the one yellow course, and the walk to the start. Darcy said that yellow course may be too hard if it takes everyone else that long :). Tomorrow is supposed to be nice also so I will head out there again to check the brown courses (After I do all the map updates and whatever course updates from the rejected controls.
The good news is that my back didn't bother me while out here.

I had planned to go vetting some control locations today since it was cooler and lower humidity. Well, my back didn't get any better overnight so I had to cancel that. It was up for walking so went for walk with Darcy. I didn't make it a long walk as I didn't want to over do it.

Very hot and humid out. My lungs felt much better/clearer. I was still slow but it was more pleasant run. I was totally drenched when I finished.

Darcy wasn't home yet when I got back from my run. Normally I would walk some with her to cool off. I walked around some outside then decided to go take a cool shower to cool off. Darcy still not home so decided to eat a quick lunch and then is when I hurt my back. I was carrying my lunch plate when I turned and pulled a back muscle that I had hurt a week ago. This time it was worse as my back started spasming. It took a long time to it to settle down.

Taught OCAD drafting Class to 18 QOC members. Class went well but ran overtime. I didn't really know how long it would take. It did give practice using OCAD.
