warm up with the Girls soccer team
soccer 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: brooks- winter/trail model
The SLA's girls soccer team was down player today for the game so they asked me to play with them. So to help my fellow athletes out i played. We just had enough people to cover the field so we had no subs.

I haven't played on a real soccer team ever so it was an experience! we sadly lost 1-2 but it was a close game! the other team didn't get a second goal until the very end.

Great job SLA soccer! GO ROCKETS!!!

Hiking (contorl hanging) 2:00:00 [2]***
7c shoes: brooks- winter/trail model
Had to go help hang controls for the Juniors Green Lane meet. It was ok for the first set where i only had one and then had to get the controls ready for the next set. The we drove over to another part of the park and it had started spitting. we droped hunter off along the road and then continued to the parking lot. when we got there is just poured HARD!!!! we felt so bad for hunter! then when it lessened a little bit i went out and put the next 3 of mine out. But half way the heavens just opened! finally got all the controls out and guess what just as we start changing into dry clothes it stops raining and the sun comes out. Oh well

I'm just glad the meet went well!
C • Great meet! 2

running warm up/down 30:00 [1] 1.0 mi (30:00 / mi)
shoes: brooks- winter/trail model
warm up for the city championships! jogged and then some stretching.
running race (XC race) 23:11 [5] 5 km (4:38 / km) vdot: 41.9
shoes: brooks- winter/trail model
Well ran my last XC race for the season :( Ran in the JV city championship race. It felt really good! I felt really strong and consistent through out the whole race! the hills still felt a bit hard but i was able to push through the pain/tiredness of my legs after the hill much better this race than before. The forest section which is normally the slowest i thought i managed to pick up, would have liked to still have been a little faster there though. Than the last part of the course i started getting really tired and my arms started hurting yet i like couldn't really feel them it was weird. So the last part i should have pushed it more than i did but still i think i was pushing it more than i was in the past. So in the course there are two loops, one you one twice which has less of a hill and on you run once that has a big hill and is in the woods. Right after the start about 100m you run up the first hill and then it levels out for a bit before going down again. Right at the end of the level part was the last time i heard or saw anyone, so i ran most of the course on my own. I think if i was running with someone i would have broken my PR but oh well next time!

I was really out of it after the finish though! like couldn't walk straight and couldn't feel my body. it actually felt pretty good though! and i didn't really care as i had won the race so it was all worth it! also i got adopted by the CAPA XC team that was cool!

so over all a great race even though i didn't met my goal time of under 23 mins.
C • Congratulations! 13

running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 0.5 mi (19:58 / mi)
shoes: Saucony
Ran around our 5th floor because it was raining out and coaches didn't want us getting sick and we weren't going to run very far anyway as we are racing tomorrow. And we were going to do a nice long stretch and so just did that on the 5th floor as well.

Really relaxed practice today. Started our tapper for our late and biggest race on Thursday. Everyone was kinda wiped out from the week so we only ran 2.5 mile which was nice as it was very humid out!

Thursday Oct 18

stretching warm up/down 25:00 [1]
shoes: Saucony
stretching and two sets of push ups and skulls
running intervals (XC) 48:52 [4] 5.0 mi (9:45 / mi)
weight:117lbs shoes: Saucony
did this weird run where we ran to the grand stands and back but 3 sections of the run going out we had to run it at race pace and then we could jog in between. Then i had to take a bathroom brake as i was dieing. Then we turned around and went back running race pace in the same places. It was a really hard workout!!! i actually had to walk a bit after my race pace to catch my breath. Knee didn't bother me too much but i think Sandy was right i think i might be getting sick as this workout was much harder than it should have been.

running hills (XC) 1:00:00 [4] 4.4 mi (13:37 / mi)
weight:115lbs shoes: Saucony
Hill practice. Felt really crappy though. We started running one hill but it was bugging my knee quite a bit. A hair pin turn, paved, very steep, and fast going down just bugged it pretty badly. So we ran to Lemon Hill and was going to do 10 hills there and finish but i had to go to this class and i was feeling very crappy so i only did 7.

jogged back to school and was about ready to crash. head hurt and was really hot, then the rest of me was really cold, fingers were trobing so much they hurt, and my legs felt like they were going to fall off. I'm not sure why i felt this bad. Might have been lack of sleep this week or not enough water not sure.
C • Or....you could be sick? T... 2

Nice easy longish run up to the grand stands and back. Ran with Ms G the whole time which was nice as we got to talk about all sorts of things which we couldn't have done if the boys were with us.

knee left sore today. Might be from my fall yesterday but i'm not sure not going to run this weekend and rest it. Hurts mostly going down stairs.

running race (XC race) 23:49 [4] 5 km (4:46 / km) vdot: 40.6
shoes: New o-ing shoes
Third XC race.

Was really muddy out so wore my o-ing cleats. think i should have just wore my trail shoes though as i was rolling a bit on my right ankle. Felt slow in the woods and was. I was running with this one girl in there and i think i should have tried to catch the girl ahead of us but she just felt to far outa reach at the time. Then on the home stretch the girl i was running with cut my off in the this part that gets kinda tight, and i short stepped and tripped on the gravel and fell. That pissed me off but i got back up and kept running really wanted to beat her after that but wasn't quite fast enough.

anyway cut a little bit of time off (1-3 seconds) but could have done better. next race is in two weeks
running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 1.0 mi (24:59 / mi)

Note
(injured) (rest day)
So back really bugged me today so went to the Chiropractor instead of to XC. Back is feeling better already from that. He also looked at my knee and hip so that should feel better as well. So we will see tomorrow at practice how it is. I hate being injured!

Saturday Oct 6

walking 2:10:00 [2] 9.5 mi (13:40 / mi)
shoes: Saucony
Walked up to Saint. Joe's boathouse to watch my parents dragonboat race. then walked back to Gerard bridge to go bouldering with one of my friends. Then back up the Saint Joe's for parents second race. and then finally home.
rock climbing (bouldering) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony
went bouldering with my friend Mario on a rock right next to the Kelly drive path. It was a lot of fun but hard!!! i didn't get very far before either falling off or just getting tried or stuck and having to jump off. Want to try and go again and keep practicing as it is a great upper body workout.

Friday Oct 5

Note
weight:114lbs (injured) (rest day)
took another day off XC knee is still acting a bit iffy and i didn't get a lot of sleep last night so didn't want to risk injuring my knee or anything else.

Thursday Oct 4

Note
(rest day)
Went to the franklin institute after school instead of practice to hear Dr. Steven Squyers speak. He is the main scientist on the Mars rover mission. He had come to talk to us in April and was back again and wanted to talk to some of us and give us an update. So 25 of us went over to hear his update. It was pretty cool to hear him talk again. I got to sign his lab coat and he signed mine which was also cool!

also glad i got a day off for my knee. doesn't hurt well unless someone *cough my XC team mate cough* hits it hard.

Wednesday Oct 3

running long (XC) 1:00:00 [2] 5.25 mi (11:25 / mi)
shoes: Saucony
Did a nice easy run. Was supposed to jog 30 mins out 30 mins back but we stopped for water 26 mins out so coach said we could just turn around there. and then one of the guys weren't feeling that well so we slowed down a little bit on the way back so it ended up being the same anyway.

back of my right knee hurt a little bit in the beginning but went away in the middle and then kinda came back at the end. Not sure what is up with that but oh well it doesn't hurt now so we will see if it hurts tomorrow
