| I don't even want to talk about this course i did so bad! i attacked half the controls like 3 times before actually finding it, driffting, thinking i was one place and was actually another. just a crappy run. and to top it off i have the two biggest blisters on my heels and i smashed my good knee into a rock. So yeah drew i'm definetally part of suckville now!
i think i'm going to take tomorrow off from track which means i probably won't be able to race on wednesday, i'm kinda ok with that though. would rather sit out this race than be hurt for the summer and sweden. also i think i'm getting a cold so the rest would be good. | ||

| First high school track race! haven't run in a track meet since 8th grade so 2years (10th grade now)
So i thought this was going to feel a lot harder than it did. they ran the boys and girls together as there were only 3 girls and not a ton of guys. And i managed to keep up with some of the guys and lap both of the other girls. So that felt good. I think i would have been able to run it faster if i had some people around me. I only had my team mate Sam behind me and he wasn't really pushing me, i think i was pushing him lol. But yeah it didn't feel as hard as i remember it but i remember a 6:41 race so this was a bit slower. I really want to get like a 6:20-6:30 by the end of the season. that is my goal for myself. Slow but oh well. oh yeah so splits (so not 100% accurate as my coach wasn't standing at the finish he was just finishing up helping with the high jump): 1:30, 2:47, 4:29, 6:52 | ||

This was the one race i was scared about as i wasn't so good at it in middle school, i didn't think i had enough speed to do well. felt fine though! had an ok time i think about 8 seconds faster than my 8th grade time so that was cool. and i won outta the girls, they all started too fast. Oh and a guy almost tripped over me at the beginning of the race as he tried like cutting in right on me, like we bumped feet, and actually when i went to put on my sweats my shoe actually had a hole in it from his cleat. it was weird.

| Last race for me of the day. Only girl in the race so again had to run with the guys. Me and my two guy distance team mates stayed together for most of the race. So Mike we drafted off first (it was quite windy out) for 2 laps. Then we switched and the guys drafted off me as all i had to do was finish they had to do well so we tried to make it easier on them. So they probably drafted me for about 4 or 5 laps. Then the last two we kinda started to separate. Mike pulled ahead but i just couldn't keep up. my coach kept telling me to catch him and this other guy and i got closer to them but could pass or catch them. and then Sam came in behind me. So over all a great race but i do wish i had run it faster, but this is a good base line.
splits (right ones this time, i think): 1:49, 3:32, 5:34, 7:36, 9:40, 11:41, 13:35, 15:29 oh yeah and sandy I thought about your comment on the last two laps, and thought about all you guys and so tried hard to just pick it up and get a good time to report back to you all. i think i left basically everything that i had today on the track. | ||

| ok so neither coach could come so we were told by one of them to just do a long stretch and then to Gerard Bridge and back easy. there were four of us. three of us can run the fourth girl Amy has just joined the team so this was a hard work out for her. So we had to run as a group so we decided we were going to get Amy to finish this run which is why it is so slow. I ended up holding her hand and like pulling her along for most of it. She kept saying i can't, i can't. So i'm hopping that now that she knows she can run this far she won't say i can't so much and have more confidence. Pulling her along was a workout as well even though we were going slow which is why i logged this as a 2 and not a 1. But we did it! she finished all 3.6 miles!!
7:40- first mile with mike at a decent pace 3:00- wait for sam and amy 17:00- 1.5 miles with amy 6:00- break for bathroom and water and for amy 11:00- last mile back to the train track crossing 5:40- walk back up to the school. so not a super hard workout but something. | ||

That hurt so badly!!! my legs and butt just cramped up while waiting so badly!! Thank goodness my long distance coach talked my sprinting coach into letting us just run them after 5 of them. so the last 10 we just ran.

| the jog back to school from Lemon Hill. I got a huge cramp in my right cave just under half way back. Big enough i had to stop, stretch it, walk for a bit and then continue running. Then i kept getting short little cramps in both my calves the rest of the way back. I walked the last few blocks back and i just felt like i needed to throw up the whole time. I got back to school went up to the office put the ice pack on my knee and almost feel asleep on the couch in my principals office.
I felt really tired and sick when i got done with this and i shouldn't feel like this. I think i need more water and healthy foods. | ||

| was supposed to run two 200s, two 400s, and one 800. I didn't make it though. ran two 200s the second one my knee got a sharp pain up it. I'm getting so sick of this STUPID knee!!!!! but i was also getting freaked out by how big the track felt and how close our meet was. I haven't run on a track since 8th grade. I actually mental freaked myself out today! i'm not sure i can run 8 laps around the track at once. It is huge!!! way bigger than i remember. I really don't think i can do this!!! becuase of that i knew that if i didn't run one more 200 or a 400 after my knee acted up i would freak my self out even more so after walking the rest of the way around the track and standing at the starting line for i bit i talked myself into running a 200 just so that i knew i could do it.
1st 200- 40secs 2nd- 1min 1sec 3rd- 43secs 400- 1 min 37secs after that i just stretched a bit again and just sat and stared at the track. I have no idea what got into me but i was really scared! i really don't want to be last and i want to have a good time but i really don't think i'll be able to do that!!! not having a distance coach there pushing me is taking its toll. it has been all me, making up training some times, pushing myself, not getting coached, not getting told what i'm doing wrong or what i can do to improve. UGH | ||

| OK so i got home from liverpool yesterday afternoon. GREAT TRIP!!!! soo much fun!!! the girls were so lovely and i can't wait to see them when they come here in november or march!!!! we had way too much fun and did soo much this post would be pages long if i tried to tell you everything. But we did a few tours, i got to go to a football (aka soccer) game at anfield, visited their school, and was down in london for a day. Missing the girls a lot now!!!
so did a ton of walking and didn't get much sleep but not going to log any of it as it wasn't really a workout and we all eat so much (the food is amazing!!!) that it overrides it. was supposed to go to track practice today at 10am but woke up at 10:20 and i'm still super tired. hopefully will make it tomorrow as our first meet is on the 26th. | ||

I actually thought i was going to have to run on my own and i would see everyone coming back. turned out i was wrong! but there were no other distance runners and no distance coach so kinda had to make up my own practice. thats why i stuck this under track as i did so much random stuff i didn't know how to separate it.
6:05-sprint to catch up with everyone (~.75 miles) 3:00- jog with everyone to were they were going to practice relays 8:45- stretching while the sprinters set up there relay 10:14- decided i was going to run two miles while they did that so just over a mile out. 8:42- mile back, jogged like just under 10ish pace the whole way and then pushed the last 1/4 mile 1:30- cool down jog back to everyone 7:40- drills with the sprinters 5:56- jog back to the train tracks (~.75) 3:27- cool down jog back to school (~.15) distances are a guess but i think over all i ran just over 4 miles but logging as 4. | ||

| Hard track practice as i was beat from a hard school day, and it was raining (by the end quite hard)
we did intervals were we would run 1min at 400m pace, 2 min jog, 1 min 800m pace, 2min jog, 1 min 1600m pace, 2 min jog, 1 min 3200m pace, then mile jog in between before doing that all again on the way back. Then we had to sprint as fast as we could the last like 200m. I finished, walked like 5 steps and layed down on the path (which of course was a puddle by now so got soaked even more) i was so beat. Side hurt a bit like a crap i used to get from drinking water during practice but i had no water so wonder why i got that. maybe not enough water during the day? | ||

Well not today! one was at a track meeting to find out all the details of the races and such, one had engineering club, and the other forgot clothes/shoes so couldn't run with us and thought we weren't starting until next week anyway (even though we have been running mondays and fridays since about January) So the three of us that showed up went for a run together and kinda just picked where we each wanted to run to. I decided to run three miles, as i was feeling a bit sore from yesterday, didn't get a good night sleep and i had to babysit at 6pm. I still felt super slow and got a big cramp in my side.
