Event: West Point A meet

orienteering race 59:50 [5] *** 3.04 km (19:41 / km) +115m 16:33 / km
spiked:10/10c (sick) shoes: o-ing shoes
did my first a-meet orange. over all had a pretty good run. made a few mistakes but nothing really bad.

#1- 5:40- had no problems just didn't feel like running up the steep hill.
#2- 2:30- fine
#3- 6:01- got to the fence with out problems but then thought i was on the wrong corner of it so went a little to far to the right but relized pretty fast.
#4- 8:45- was going to go straight then ended up going on the the big path and then turn left up the path to the hill and control. now that i look closer at the map there was a small trail close to #3 that would have taken me almost straight to #4. theres some time wasted.
#5- 10:29- yeah i kinda crossed over the little stream because i thought it was part of the marsh. so i then started looking on the wrong hill. But soon relised that i was on the wrong hill because there were so many clifs and it was way to steep so went back and found it.
#6- 10:50 well i'm still shocked i found this one this fast. when i was out there it felt like at lest 20 mins. wanted to go straight and then find an indistinced trail. never foudn the trail and a marsh made me go to the right. ended up on the main trail again and then went up another trail to it.
#7- 6:26- i litterly bumped into this control. I found the control on the bolder in the next field over first and kinda went south west from that and i thought i didn't got far enough when i looked to my right and it was there.
#8- 5:04- took a bearing crossed over the first wall, then the second, saw the rocky ground and followed it to the third wall were the control was
#9- 4:17- ran along wall until i hit the small trail, small trail to the big trail and found the GO control
F- 24- ran as fast as i could from the GO control to finish. almost over run finish stand.
