another long analysis!! Over all though very happy with my run! it was really hard and you had to be focused the whole time, i have never run a course quite like it before. will scan my map hopefully tomorrow and put a link here so you actually know what i'm talking about.

Start to 1: (5:44) Plan was to run the trail to the junction, turn left, run that to the next junction, then turn right and run until the vegetation boundary and where it starts going up hill and cut in there. Once I cut in pass a spur and reentrant and then hit the control on the hill. I did just that however it took my a bit to pick that route and it was probably not the best but as the first leg I wanted to be safe.

1 to 2: (4:50) Plan was to run back and cross over the trail, run along the top of the spur and hit the control. Drifted a little to far to the left and ended up running all the way down to the bottom and had to come back up and attack it from behind. It was also hung really low!! But I guess it was in a depression.

2 to 3: (7:26) This was maybe my best leg. Plan was to run up the reentrant to the trail, run left down the trail to the second junction, run left down that trail to the boulder, and then up the reentrant right behind the boulder up to the control. I did exactly that!

3 to 4: (4:26) Weird route chouse on this one. Ran to the trail, right down the trail to the fence, then along the field area to the end of that and then cut down the right side of the reentrant passed the two boulders and then crossed over to the other reentrant and up the spur to the control. Not too much fighting which was nice but a long route.

4 to 5: (4:43) Ran directly North from the control to the power line/ trail crossing. Ran up the trail to the junction, right at the junction to the spur. Ran along the spur, left of the depression and then along the middle spur right after the depression to the control.

5 to 6: (2:34) plan was to run back to the left side of the depression, down the reentrant to the control. Drifted a bit to the right going down the depression because of green so hit the reentrant too high and had to run down it a bit to the control.

6 to 7: (8:42) Ok so I was stupid and decided to go almost straight on this leg. At the time I didnt really see the left and right routes, or good left or right routes. So crossed the trail, up the hill hitting to the right of the top and the top of the reentrant, right over the next hill to just above the indistinct trail/ trial crossing. Ran along the hill side crossing over the two reentrants, ran to the left of the boulder, then over to the control. Other routes were probably faster but this definitely boosted my contour reading confidence.

7 to 8: (9:44) Plan was to cross the trail then up the spur to the trail, run right along the trail to then junction, run left along the road until the hill on my left and cut in on my right along the side of the reentrant around the hill to the other reentrant which was the control. I did basically that. At first when I hit the second trail I was like oh wait I could just run up this right reentrant to the road and then cross to the other reentrant, however stopped myself from doing that (even though it may have been better) as it wasnt my original plan. Then once on the road I cut in to early and was too far right and had to cross way over to get to the reentrant.

8 to 9: (4:37) ran up the spur to the left of the boulder to the trail corner. Ran right to where the depression is on the trail then cut in, ran left of the depression, top of the reentrant to the depression that was the control.

9 to 10: (3;23) Plan was to run to the trail to the east of the control. Along that to the junction, left at the junction then down the reentrant to the left of the trail to the control. Did just that.

10 to 11: (9:07) this is another leg where I think I didnt take the best route chouse but it was safe. Ran back out to the trail and back to the junction, left at the junction down the hill to the lower trail, right on this trail, ran this trail all the way up the hill to where a trail goes off on the right. Cut in here to the right of the big depression and into the control. I know a lot of people had trouble with this one. I didnt which was nice however coming out was a little weird.
11 to 12: (4:45) So coming out of 11 I was going to just go back the way I had come and go back to the trail intersection on top of the hill. However I guess because of the green I drifted a lot to the right and actually came to the trail just past the junction. Ran down the trail that went off to the right to where it bends to the left and there is a swamp. Went to the right of the swamp to the reentrant and at the top of the reentrant I could actually see the control, so crossed the reentrant to the control.

12 to 13: (5:58) So plan was to run to the right of the green to the trail and to the big depression just past the trail. From there take a bearing to the control, passed the pit and to the control. I did that however drifted to the left on my bearing and so didnt see the pit (probably wouldnt have seen it anyway a lot of down fall) however hit the green so ran along that to the control.

13 to 14: (8:28) Ok really bad plan on this route!!! First off I went the wrong way out of the control got confused but realized what I had done fast and so ran back to the control. After ran straight along the flat to the trail junction. From there ran just below the flat part and was going to keep going to there that curved to the right and then down the reentrant there to the control. However I drifted to the left quite a bit to the hill on the left side of the depression and so had to cut back over that hill to the control.

14 to 15: (2:30) cut down to the trail ran that to the forest/clearing boundary. Ran up along that and actually someone showed me into the control.

15 to 16: (2:11) crossed the reentrant to the trail. At first wasnt totally sure which trail I was on and then thought that it wasnt big enough to be the big one so ran left to the big trail and then down that to the go control. Got a little confused from the fire damage.

16 to finish: (0:33) ran as fast as I could down the trail and hill into the finish.
stretching warm up/down 25:00 [1] 1.2 km (20:50 / km)
shoes: o-ing shoes
stretched in the parking lot before going out. then jogged to the start w/ Alexei and did a little map work on route (hard!) stretched a little more once at the start.

3 mile run - this felt really slow and hurt a little bit. However I saw my old advisor/ track coach and gave her a hug and that put the pep in my step back and i finished strong. I think this 3 miles took me ~31ish mins.

walk back to school as a short cool down.
