Sunday Jun 10

Orienteering (race) 1:45:00 [3]
Second day at the Mt. Pinos B-meet in Los Angeles. Ran blue again. I tried to fix everything that I had problems with yesterday, except the altitude. Took a nap yesterday afternoon, ate like a pig at dinner and breakfast, drank lots of fluids, and got an early start. I was able to go much harder today, although I made bigger mistakes.

Saturday Jun 9

Orienteering (race) 2:09:00 [3] 8 km (16:08 / km)
Felt very sluggish. I think it was a combination of the altitude, the lack of sleep, the lack of food the night before, the heat, and insufficient fluids.

Thursday Jun 7

Bicycle 20:00 [1]
Rode bike to work.
Bicycle 20:00 [1]
Rode bike home.
Running (Warmup) 30:00 [1]
Warmup run at Bald Hill Park. This time I read Pillars of the Earth.
Running (Hill intervals) 30:00 [3]
Did hill repeats at Bald Hill. About 30s of hard uphill with about 100s of walking downhill back to the start.
Running (Cool down) 30:00 [1]
Ran home.

Wednesday Jun 6

Bicycle 20:00 [1]
Rode the tandem to work with Paula.
Bicycle 20:00 [1]

Tuesday Jun 5

Note
Put Cassie to sleep. Had no desire to do anything else.

Monday Jun 4

Bicycle 20:00 [1]
Rode bike to work.
Bicycle 20:00 [1]
Rode bike home. A little drizzly today. Found out I made the big time today, my picture is in the Consumers Power Ruralite magazine in an orienteering article.
Running (warmup) 30:00 [1]
Warmup run at the Philomath HS track.
Running (Intervals) 30:00 [3]
400m hard with a half lap jog. All quarters were under 90s. Was not running all out, but it was a concentrated effort. My half laps weren't equal as I started at some yellow concrete poles instead of the 200m mark. The last lap I ran a little harder to make sure I was well under 90s.

Sunday Jun 3

Roller skiing (skate) 1:56:00 [1]
Roller skied with Paula on the bike trail. It was a little windy today.

Saturday Jun 2

Running (warmup) 30:00 [1]
Warmup run on the Woodpecker loop at Finley Nature Reserve with my book, Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz. Good read.
Running (fartlek intervals) 30:00 [3]
Did fartlek intervals around the Mill Hill loop. Clockwise seemed to work best. I felt that the rest interval was too long coming downhill so will have to pick a better place for this workout next time.
Running (Cooldown) 30:00 [1]
Cool down. Ran towards the Woodpecker loop with my book. Of course I saw a woodpecker. He was really throwing out some good wood chips.

Friday Jun 1

Bicycle 20:00 [1]
Rode to work. It was too cold to ride home, so Paula gave me a ride.
