Ran with Paula and Annie at the Philomath HS cross country course. There were lots of little kids playing baseball on all the diamonds. My legs were super heavy like I was carrying a couple giggly nephews on each foot.

Ran with Paula in the health center on the treadmills. Watched Beverly *Hills* Cop which I thought was appropriate orienteering fare. Anything by Spike Lee would probably be good too. Still haven't eaten anything solid since I got sick. Will eat again in the states.

Hiking 45:00 [1]
Hiked up Penang Hill with Paula. Hot and dripping was the name of the game here. We saw 2 different types of monkeys and a couple of different types of lizards. Before we went up the hill, the curator for the fern building in the botanical garden gave us a little tour. Total hiking time was 2 hours. Still haven't had anything solid to eat since breakfast yesterday.

Ran on the treadmill again. After the workout I went for a very long walk. Saw a pet monkey tied to a fence. I also demonstrated that some things are funny in any culture when I banged my head on a low hanging sign.

Ran on a treadmill (hamster wheel) for as long as I could stand it. Had it on the maximum incline.

Ran with Paula and Annie at Bald Hill as a warmup and cooldown.

Ran hill intervals at Bald Hill in the Gauntlet of Poison Oak near the barn with Paula. Saw Larry jog up the hill during our workout. He must have wondered why Annie was just sitting there. She gets overheated on warm days, so we make her sit until she cools down.

Bike to work and home. Didn't do much training this weekend, but now Paula and I are wilderness first aid certified.

Ran 1000m intervals with 400m walk in between. 3:47, 3:49, 3:46, 3:50, 3:56. Pleased with the workout. I loafed it on the last one, running just under the uncomfortable zone. It was raining so I was running with a jacket on.

Rode bike from work to Peavy Arboretum. Then rode it home after running around. Actual time was 2 hours.

Andy set up a course of about 13 controls. I pretty much stayed on the trails since I wasn't up for beating through blackberries and poison oak in my shorts.
